Super long stretch of generally nice beach. As nice as one can get in SF. It’s chilly and breezy and there’ll prob be lots of jabby shell pieces in the sand and maybe some jellies so watch your step. It’s gorgeous views but don’t expect SoCal blue waters.

One of my go to beaches! Lots of parking, and you can walk along the beach for a long ways.

Some 4 miles long and quite broad, this is the city’s largest beach, but probably the worst for entering water safely. Although there were surfers there not afraid. It starts at Cliff House and continues to south SF, turning into picturesque dunes at south end

Nice beach with ample parking. No lifeguard towers be there are lifeguard tricks doing a great job of keeping people safe. Soft sand but super cold water.

When the weather is great, there's really not many places in the city as gorgeous as Ocean beach.

When the weather is actually nice around the area, this isn't a bad place to visit. I'm usually here for the occasional bonfire in the evening, but got a good view of the Fleet Week air show earlier this month. I love seeing different dogs here too.

After taking a ride across Golden Gate Bridge, a stop by Ocean Beach in the evening could be just the magic you are looking for. Although it's a little cold during the winter months, the sunset over the ocean is well worth the trip.

Out out to the west you go and leave the bustle of San Francisco and hit the salty ocean air, the cold chilly pacific air and fog smack you. Wake you. Bring you back to life! Yes Ocean Beach is a haven and long strip of rustic coast for surfers, nature lovers, dog walkers, and all those who need to breath and get some sea air. Part of visiting San Fran!

Cold. Relaxing experience with all the right attire. Fire rings for beach fires. Earlier seems better for children.

Yes, there is a beach in SF! Sand and breaking waves for miles! You can catch the Muni (J line) and ride all the way to the beach. There is a walkway along the great highway up to land's end.

Our biggest (4 miles) and best beach. Borders Golden Gate Park at the northern end and San Francisco Zoo on the southern end.

Sandy surfing beach right in the city! The water is too rough on most days for beginning surfers. A great place to relax and watch the sunset.

This is a windy one, but it is really the ocean and not the bay, and the vast ocean has such a magnificent appeal that you can do nothing but admire it. Ocean beach is right at the end of GG Park and it welcomes locals and visitors to hang out around a picnic during the day and gather around a fire at night. There are dozens of fire pits right on the beach and you are allowed to stay all night long—no drinking though. Afterwards head north and up the hill to the Cliff House for amazing views.

Ocean Beach is a great spot for a bonfire at night. It can get chilly and windy on the beach over here.

Love that the ocean is just a muni ride away.. Its just 2.25 and you can get from city life to the ocean. Just be aware it gets cold and windy at times so bring a jacket

Miles of white sand beach to put out your towel and enjoy. There are rip-tides (also known as under tows) so only go out to your waist. But at 55 degrees all year long, that might be enough.

I think I was at this beach on one of the few sunny days of the year in San Francisco, so I have a pretty nice photo. There were only a few people in the water even though it was the middle of summer. Since I am from sunny SoCal, I didn't feel the need to swim there. I am pretty sure the water was really cold!
