High end, luxury hotel in the city - the Omni is another of many luxurious and extravagant hotels in the city. A nice place to stay but probably nothing special relative to other high end luxury hotels in SF.

Excellent service and clean and quiet rooms in the heart of the Financial District and essentially in walking distance of, well, everything.

I already miss the Omni hotel, my home away from home for 4 nights! The service was beyond comparison for any hotel I have ever stayed at, and I've stayed at many hotels in the past year alone, including the chic Vegas hotels like Cosmo and Wynn.

My aunt booked this hotel for our mini vacay to SF for our Nike Women's half marathon race for the weekend. We checked in on a late Thursday morning and stayed till the afternoon on Monday.

It started with Tai, the valet attendant. Now we're complete LA girls who quote the movie Clueless when it comes to parking, I mean, why learn to park when, "Everywhere you go has valet"! He saw our struggle with trying to get the car parked on an incline (Uhm, have you seen SF hills?! How do they do this?!) in front of the hotel to be valeted and politely asked us to keep the car where it was and that he would take care of it for us. We left the car not parked, blocking one of the lanes for oncoming traffic, for Tai to graciously park for us.

We were then met by Jeffrey at the front desk who gave us the best upgrade he could for the weekend and an early check-in since we had arrived earlier than they expected (we had to get the Nike race swag before everyone else did!). We went up to our room only to receive a welcome note from our housekeeping personnel. What an awesome touch and warm welcome!

We loved Darryl the most, for he knew his city well and was able to give us some great suggestions depending on what we were in the mood for. He even gave us the short cut to where we were going so we wouldn't have to walk in the cold for as long as possible and even helped us cross the street! When we praised him for how awesome he was, he responded with, "I'm your doorman, it's my job" with a huge smile on his face. OUR doorman, how great is he?! He went above and beyond and exemplified amazing customer service.

One of the nights was my aunt's birthday and we called the room service number literally 10 minutes before they stopped serving. We asked the kitchen if they could write happy birthday on a slice of cake and bring it up. It came up promptly and they even included a candle and matches. Again, the service went above and beyond what we had asked!

It started to rain on one of the days and the three of us were worried about our hair and makeup. The rain put an immediate damper on the mood, but when the doormen immediately provided us with three umbrellas to borrow, we were excited again. We didn't even have to ask, they overheard us and saw the looks on our faces as it started to sprinkle, and the service went above and beyond yet again!

Everyone here was very friendly. And welcoming. I particularly loved the doormen who made you feel welcomed at all hours of the day and night and brought an extra sense of security.

Pro tip: members get free wi-fi and two non-alcoholic beverages delivered to your door at a time in the morning of your choosing!

I am forever ruined by my experience here for I know other hotels will not own up to the device here. This is now my expectation and this is how hotel service should be. If anyone from any other hotels are reading this, have a stay at Omni and train your staff accordingly, please!

The omni is embodies luxury and extraordinary service. As soon as I got out of my cab, the bellboy grabbed my luggage. Upon entrance to the lobby I was greeted by a beautiful chandelier and the front desk staffed found my name on the reservation within seconds like he was expecting me. The room was very spacious for SF standards - king bed, couch, desk and huge bathroom. It would have put some of the SF apartments to shame. Upon arriving into my room, I had room service knock on my door and a bottle of champagne and a thoughtful welcome note was delivered to my door. This hotel went way above and beyond to please me and because of that I will be returning again. The omni knows what food hospitality is and sets the bar high.

You don’t even have to step into the Omni to know it’s a luxury hotel. Before I could even reach for the door it was opened for me by a doorman and moments after stepping in I was handed a glass of champagne while I waited to talk to the front desk underneath a beautiful chandelier. (It worked out that I had arrived during complimentary champagne happy hour, which occurs on Friday and Saturday evenings.) Most of the guests at the Omni visit during the week, as it’s in the Financial District, but it also makes a great hotel for families and it’s close to the action and some rooms even look out on the cable cars. For business travelers, there is a restaurant int he lobby perfect for meetings-Bob’s Steak and Chop House. The Omni has larger rooms here than some of their other properties (I’ve stayed at the Boston location which has tiny rooms due to the old building) as well as a modern fitness center. The staff is very accommodating and proud of their hotel, as they should be.

The Omni San Francisco offers world-class service and luxury amenities and service at a slightly lower price tag than the city's top five-star hotels. Built as a bank in the roaring 20s, the opulent Austrian crystal chandeliers and tasteful decor is a welcome respite in the city. But attention to detail and customer service is why this hotel is so beloved. While the hotel is known for its romance, kids are so welcome here that they have their own suite (complete with bean bag chairs and bunk beds). But the location is what guests love most; the hotel sits along a cable car line and just minutes from downtown SF, Union Square, and North Beach.

I competed in a marathon in 2010, the host hotel was the Omni. I have stayed in many Omni hotes before, however this one was by far the best. As you can imagine, resting up for the marathon and then after was a huge need. The esthetic is amazing. There was fresh fruit water (water with slices of fruit in it) all over the hotel for anyone to refresh themselves. The views were gorgeous of the city. The people were lovely and accomodating.
