Nice hotel and close to the SF downtown area. Bart is also a few blocks away. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. At checkin, they offer guests complementary water bottles. There is also mini bar in the room but you have to pay extra for this. Room also has a nice coffee maker with your choice of Illy brand coffee. Parking is valet only for about $65 a day.

Booked a night here for the weekend and it is in the middle of everything. Had a great view in my room and service was great. The room however wasn't as clean as expected. There were some random hair in the drawer and lip stain on the glass.

Beautiful modern hotel. The lobby is almost all glass - very open and spacious. The bar downstairs, Lucce, is a little over-priced so don't actually eat there. The spa has some really great aestheticians and masseuses, but be warned that its a process to use the pool area of you want to after your services. They don't just give you a key, they actually walk you over, it's strange. Also, the neighborhood is a little sketchy at night - take a car.

This hotel is beautiful and new and everything about its design is nice and chic. The rooms are pretty standard sized, with standard amenities. The one thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is that the staff is a little OVER vigilant about noise. Which - I guess could be good if you are "a family" or a "serious business person", but if you are younger and looking to socialize a little in your room - then this is not the place for you. The hotel staff knocked and told us we had to kick out our guests even though it was only 10:00pm and we weren't being THAT loud - no music just talking. Also, the location is JUST Inside the more seedier area of SOMA - a quick walk from nice areas but not technically on that nice of a block.

One of my favorite places to stay in SF... comfortable, nice staff, clean, and great views of the city. A little far from Union Square, but close to all the great SF nightlife.

The InterContinental has one of San Francisco's newest and best hotel restaurants, Luce. If grappa's more your thing, Bar 888 has a huge collection with a line of gorgeous bottles. Located near San Francisco's convention center, Moscone Center, the hotel is also a quick taxi ride to many of the best unsung restaurants in San Francisco's SoMa (South of Market) district.

If you are traveling to San Francisco, the InterContinental Hotel in Downtown is a great deal. The hotel is new and the rooms are very nice. If I wanted an economical upscale place to stay in one of the most expensive cities in the world. I would stay here.

Due to its location, the rates offered here are cheaper. Located adjacent to the Moscone Center, the hotel isn't next to anything else. But a two block walk towards union square and you are at the Metreon or all the shopping in Union Square.

For value and amenities, this place is a strong bang for your buck five star hotel.

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the InterContinental over New Years Eve weekend. We both enjoyed the views of the city, the exceptional room service, and the modern design.

Got this as a conference package hotel. Nice architecture in the public areas and outside. Service was ok. Room was ok. Too many dollars for "ok" - would have expected more.

I really like this hotel. It's very elegant but also clean cut & modern.

Their lobby area is very simple in terms of layout, and they have the restaurant Luce as well as bar situated on the same level.

You can find some street parking, and luckily after 6PM or Sundays is free, otherwise you'll have to opt for the expensive $50/night parking...

It's interesting that my first experiences with InterContinentals were overseas and I always had this impression that they were high class overseas hotels. It was a nice surprise to find the InterContinental in San Francisco because I knew I could expect a high class experience so similar to what I had been in in other countries.

One shocker about this place was getting a $50 over night parking bill on my check out. Oh my gosh?????

If I had known, I probably would have tried to park elsewhere. I've been used to getting $26-30 parking bills, even once $35 in San Francisco, but $50?!

No thanks. You're already paying an arm and a leg for the hotel, but this adds another leg!

This hotel is gorgeous. I came here for a work breakfast event in one of the conference rooms. As I was walking through the lobby, I was greeted and felt genuinely welcomed.

The food in the conference room was very delicious for a catered/work event. I was pleasantly surprised. I would love to come here for a drink or even to stay one day -- it's super close to the Moscone Center and Union Square.

Just attended a wedding reception of a dear old friend here this past weekend. The InterContinental Hotel was an absolute LOVELY place to celebrate a new chapter in their lives---SWANKY!

Noteworthy:
- Service.....Dining Staff and Bartenders were absolutely ON TOP OF THEIR GAME! They made everything seamless and extremely fun!
- Decor....Modern, clean lines....did I mention swanky?
- Food....We all know wedding food is hit or miss. However, their Salmon may have been one of the best fish dishes I've had at a wedding--EVER! And the Filet was cooked to perfection. VERY hard to do with a large party of 350+

Off Points:
- At such a nice spot, one would imagine a "door person" would be there to assist with cabs, etc. Truth be told, I saw him inside several times but not assisting ppl, just leaning against the wall.
- The groom needed some assistance with his hotel key at the end of the night. When we went downstairs to the front desk for assistance, they were a bit "uppety" about the whole affair--even when he showed his ID. Not very nice when you throw that much moola at a place.

Overall....If you have a sizable budget, the InterContinental Hotel would be a fabulous place to throw a celebration. And don't forget to invite me :)

The InterContinental is all around a fantastic hotel. The hotel is only 3 years old, so it feels pretty new, and the rooms are clean. Everyone I met who was part of the staff was highly courteous and attentive. At 2am one morning, I asked Housekeeping for a toothpaste and, expecting the usual 20+ minute wait at most huge hotels, I was shocked when I got a knock on my door 5 minutes later. I received the toothpaste, and the guy left quickly before I could tip him. Nitpicks are towels a little on the prickly side, and a shower I couldn't turn on without having to enter it first (which means I can't completely avoid the first spray of cold water, brr). One of the best things about the Intercontinental is the location. Crazy convenient. It's within walking distance to the Moscone Center and Union Square. Note that parking our car overnight cost $53 per night + tax :O So...the convenient location isn't without a price tag. But in my opinion, this is worth it.
