Ένα από τα σημαντικά λιμάνια του νησιού, η ίδια η πόλη δε φημίζεται για την ομορφιά της. Ωστόσο, στη Σάμη βρίσκονται τα σπήλαια της Μελισσάνης και του Δρογαράτη, που αξίζουν να τα επισκεφτείς. Επίσης, γύρω από το χωριό υπάρχουν σημεία αρχαιολογικού ενδιαφέροντος. Τέλος, για τους σινεφίλ, η παραλία που γυρίστηκε το Μαντολίνο του λοχαγού Κορέλι, η Αντίσαμος, βρίσκεται σε απόσταση λίγων μόνο χιλιομέτρων.
