Fahrenheit (low 30s Celsius), while winters get very cold, with most of the snow falling in the northwest. Spring and early summer are much like Dorothy’s Kansas in the Wizard of Oz: the state averages 50 tornadoes every year. Other types of severe weather can hit the state as well, including thunderstorms and hail. Perhaps the best time to visit Kansas is in the autumn (September and October) when temperatures are still warm and Kansas City is alive with fall festivals.

Feels like the most humid place in the world. Been stranded here a couple times during and after thunderstorms, and other times have just stopped while driving i-70 because going on to Denver was too much in one go. Hasn't changed much in thirty years, and the social attitudes of the locals are red red state.
