This world is full of some spectacular natural wonders and creatures that make you believe in the infinite. In the marshy waters of the Pampas de Río Yacuma lives one such miraculous creature, bufeos or pink freshwater dolphins! A boat ride on the Yacuma allows for relative easy viewing of these and many other incredible wildlife creatures.

The town of Rurrenabaque acts as a base for trips to the wetlands of Pampas de Río Yacuma, in the Amazon basin. Puttering downriver in a motorised canoe, close up wildlife encounters are guaranteed, with alligators and capybaras lining the riverbank. Pampas tours offer the opportunity to fish for piranha and search the wetlands for anacondas; it is also possible, luck prevailing, to see Amazonian pink river dolphins. Overnight tours include night time boat trips, gliding past the glowing eyes of scores of alligators and caimans. Evenings are spent sipping cold beer at a riverside bar complete with football pitch, on which tourists and guides play until the sun disappears.
