This long walkway encompasses miles of Rotorua's prime walking spots, passing by the lake, geothermal ponds, and local sites.

Can't get any better than this for a free walk through thermal activity in the heart of the city. Tips........Keep to the walk ways, do not jump over the fence lines to 'test' the temperature of the water. Even if the ground looks stable 'ABORT MISSION". Do not walk through at night unless you are with a group of people. As beautiful as ROTORUA is, it is unwise to walk these areas alone at night. Easy access to thermal foot spa's, Kuirau park and the city centre. On Saturday mornings the market ios held in the car park area so you are able to purchase some fresh local produce and hot take aways.

The 26km walkway is broken into eight distinct and unique sections, each providing visitors with a different perspective of New Zealand's natural wonders. Some sections wind through geothermal features, while others lead past waterfalls and through lush forests. An absolute must.
