Beautiful ocean-side resort that boasts California's coastline. It's perfect for relaxing and nature-lovers alike. There's a path called the discovery trail that leads to a pebble beach where you can picnic, and also a cave to watch the occasional dolphins and seals play at sunset.

Terranea resort is in Palos Verdes which is about 40 minutes outside LA. I highly recommend this resort. It is on the ocean and views like you couldn't imagine. There is loads of built in activities like kayaking and workouts and fabulous restaurants. If your planning a trip to LA I would stay here over Beverly Hills any day because you can still go to LA for the day but come home to what feels like paradise

This is one of my favorite places in SoCal for a staycation. What's awesome about this hotel property is that even if you don't shave a room here you can still check out and enjoy the sprawling, scenic playground with fantastic restaurants, a beach cove, and ocean breezing trails that really transport you out of LA. Just a breathtaking oceanfront resort that is great to go with family, escape with a special someone, or simply to enjoy the outdoors.

What a place! Terranea successfully feels both comfortable and luxurious, connected yet removed from LA. The setting is incredibly relaxing and the food at the many restaurants is quite good, too. The spa, walking trails, and mar'sel restaurant are what really made my stay memorable.

Luxury resort in Los Angeles. Has all the amenities of luxury resorts found in the most elegant cities in the world. Good place to escape reality and if you live in Southern California, you don't have to go far to accomplish that.

Reserving the casitas across from the spa is a must! Included access to the adult only spa pool. The other 2 pools are quite a hike and while one is adult only it's not nearly as nice. Beautifully maintained grounds and in the right season you can watch the whales breaching from your private patio with fire pit on the ground floor or one of two outdoor spaces if you are on the second floor. Expansive property. Not really a fan of the public that they allow on the property. Nice hiking trail and golf course.

I love the Terrenea, and have stayed their several times. I would suggest it to anyone. The resort has just about anything you want to do. They have such a great staff, they are very friendly and helpful. Any room you you have has a great view. I like going near Christmas bc there are so many festivities and it's very family friendly.

Beautiful place to relax, elegant and Fridays there are concerts and live jazz in the lounge. It is a resort and a retreat place to get away from it all.

This place is amazing. I was given a gift card for a Christmas present for a one night stay and it just made me want to stay longer. Unfortunately, it's also incredibly pricey. Worth it! But still pricey. Upon arrival I was given a glass of champaign. That is exactly how I want to be welcomed to a hotel. The whole experience was 5 stars. The pools were amazing. I spent my time at the adult only pool because kids just aren't my thing. (BUT if you have kids there is plenty to do with them). The views are just remarkable. It's almost like you have been transported to Big Sur, but its only an hour from LA. Overall, I would live here if I could (and I think you can!)

Also, its a resort, so you don't have to leave the premises to have a full vacation experience.

Amazing location. So incredible that locals come here for a staycation. Great variety of restaurants but service is patchy. Definitely recommend for a getaway or conference. Go on the coastal walk. Get the lobster tacos from Nelson's.

The Terranea Resort is one of the most beautiful Oceanfront resorts you will ever find It's great for couples & families. It's located not far from LA in Palos Verdes. For foodies, Terranea offers great dining at mar'sel & Catalina Kitchen. For those craving an escape, Terranea has it all. From great spas to just being a destination to take it all in and say ahhhh.

This was a our first time at Terranea. We went to dinner at mar'sel, and walked around the grounds. An amazing resort with all sorts of pools, beautiful walkways, etc. Friends of ours have stayed here, and looking forward to trying it soon.

Beautiful spot. This hotel sits on the bluffs of Rancho Palos Verdes, with sweeping views of the pacific. The hotel is done in traditional Spanish style, with red tile roof, terra cotta floor tiles and palm trees. Great for a weekend escape - I felt like I was transported to the Italian Riviera. The beds are comfortable and the rooms spacious.

This giant, deluxe resort has so much going on you never have to leave, which is fine by me. The location is beautiful, right on a dramatic rugged ocean point. Nature trails smell like sagebrush and salt air. It’s a super place for kids. The family pool has a fun, giant slide. The activities are action-packed like kayaking, paddleboarding, horseback riding and even live falconry! But we could come back just for the tidepools alone. While kids can go off and adventure I can also get away at the spa and adult pool, and I had one of the most romantic dinners ever at the restaurant Mar’sel. It overlooks the ocean and the food and fine wine really impressed me. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, but not stunning—however with such spectacular nature all around I just wanted to be out exploring anyway.

A neat oceanfront hotel near LA & OC yet it feels like an island when you are inside. Great place for a couples getaway or family vacation. The pools are perfect with a little water slide. Bring marshmallows, chocolate bar, graham crackers and skewers to make smores at the fire pit near the pool. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, Nelson's has a beautiful view with fresh seafood. Mar'sel is a fine dining restaurant with delicious, eye catching deserts.

This place is definitely a resort/retreat type of place. With great views of the ocean and rich red cliffs, you'll get plenty of gorgeous scenic shots. There's even a trail that goes down to the sea so you can walk along it. The property is expansive and includes the hotel, spa, and restaurants, along with other amenities.

It's rather out of the way from everything and isn't close to any freeway, which might be why it's so peaceful to come here. There's a park nearby that you can park at for free to enjoy the area. I believe they also have villas that you can rent as a sort of vacation home. Also a really nice place to have a wedding!
