Things to see and do in Puerto Aventuras

Puerto Aventuras

Like most tropical regions, the Yucatan Peninsula has a wet and dry season. The region’s wet season (May to November) is hot, humid and rainy with the occasional hurricane blowing in. Despite poor weather, July ... Read more
and August are popular times for foreign and Mexican tourists to visit. However, if you’re dreaming of a sunny beach vacation, head here in the dry season (late November to February) when the weather milder and less rainy. Unfortunately, you won’t be alone on that white sand beach (especially if you’re planning a Christmas vacation: tourism peaks from mid-December to early January, which drives up prices), but at least you’ll get to bask in the sun without it raining on your parade.

Puerto Aventuras will have you dancing your days and nights away, as you get lost in the beautiful of this location!

Surrounded by a marina...and dolphins...Puerto Aventuras is a beautiful town to visit...or stay and live!

The white sand beaches are never over crowded. Omni beach, is my all time favorite, and a great beach for families with small children.

Omni Restaurant is my favorite place to eat for location, and their amazingly fresh food (and giant margaritas)!

The Pub is another amazing place to eat, filled with music each night, this place gets lively and is a great place for a group of friends to come and let your hair down, surrounded by good food and drinks!

There are many local shops as well as "tourist" shops and it is easy to find anything and everything you need right in town. Otherwise, a quick hop across the main road, will take you to their large grocery store.
If you want fresher food, there is an adorable local market twice a week, every week!

Loved this area so much we are booking again!! Very safe, fairly clean compared to most outside areas. Only slightly more spendy at restaurants and stores than Cancun and worth all of it. Would let our kids walk the beaches alone or hang out at the dolphin/sea lion/manatee area without us.

Puerto Aventuras is a gated community south of Playa del Carmen along Mexico's Riviera Maya. The town has a large marina, but lacks a feeling of strong Mexican culture.

For a complete change from the busy streets of Playa visit Puerto Aventuras to enjoy the marina. You can swim and play with the dolphins or simply chose one of the little waterside restaurants to watch the show. If you fancy a bit of pampering go to Think Organik Boutique and Spa for a massage, located just behind the marina, where you can also enjoy English Tea and cakes. If you don't want to drive, you can take a collectivo and ask for the Puerto Aventuras stop. It's a beautiful walk through a tree lined avenue down to the marina.
