This is one of the gardens located on Petřín Hill. It's a beautiful Baroque garden best viewed in the sunshine, which I was lucky enough to have when I was here. The garden is full of intricate sculptures and statutes which date from the eighteenth century. It's a quiet and tranquil spot away from the crowds of tourists, and it's nice to spend some time here taking advantage of this. I can imagine it would be even more beautiful in summer when the flowers are all out in full bloom.
This is a true hidden gem. It's considered one of the most beautiful gardens in Prague and even many locals don't know about it. That's understandable because the entrance is so inconspicuous. When you walk through the passageway of the house n. 25 in Karmelitská street (on the corner with Tržní) in the Lesser quarter, you'll suddenly see yourself in a beautiful and peaceful baroque terrace garden. It was build as a palace garden for the palace of Vrtba family and it replaced vineyards. The view of the Castle and of the St. Nicolas church is beautiful and the whole place has a great
