Not going to claim that I really understand what's happening, but still cool to look at! Check it out on the turning of the hour for extra fun

Watch the Parade of the Apostles at the Prague Astronomical Clock every hour on the hour. The skeletion rings a bell, the doors above open and the 12 Apostles make their appearance. Then a cock crows and the bell chimes the hour. Take time to read about the parts of the clock to appreciate this medieval wonder.

The Prague astronomical clock, or Prague orloj, is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world aand the oldest one still working.

Found in the Old Town Square, the hourly displays of the Astronomical Clock can draw daunting crowds. However it is worth seeing at least once while you are in town given the age and remarkable good health of this renowned time-piece. You can also climb the tower for a small fee which gives you good views across the Old Town. Just make sure you don't go up on the hour otherwise you will miss the main display.

A beautiful clock, that provides a lot of accurate information, including the current time (24h), ancient Czech time, star time, and a lot more. Take a stroll around Old Town and you're almost guaranteed to see the clock, and allowed to climb up the clock tower.

A must see sight. Plan ahead and see this at the top of the hour to see the clock in motion. Be prepared for a crowd.

Very cool landmark! It's very fascinating to learn about the works of this clock because it's multi-functional and for it to be created at such an early time, it makes it even more awe-strucking.

If your visiting Prague 1(the intercity zone) then this tower is a must-see. There is a small fee to climb to the top of the tower(70 Czech Koruna) but do bring a student ID for a small discount. If you love feeling like a true Disney princess(Repunzel) then climb away to the top of the tower(or take an elevator) and see the most magical view of the historic city.

This clock you MUST see. They are located on Old town and people from all over the word coming to see the every-hour performance. For me those clock are one of best things you can see in Czech republic.

The legend say that when Mistr Hanus who constructed this clock finished, alderman send man to his house who took out his eyes. They just didn't want him to build another clock in another city.

A giant, impressively intricate, clock off to the side of old town square. It's insanely beautiful, and a wonder of ingenuity.

Each hour (between 9am and 9pm) you can hear the lovely Astronomical Clock by Old Town Hall do its thing. It's "thing" only takes about 45 seconds and the grand finale is a rooster crowing (but it actually sounds more like a fart, so everyone giggles). It's a fairly easy thing to check off of your to do list when you're visiting Prague since it doesn't take much time to check it out.

Don't miss a visit to Old Town Square at the top of the hour. Here you'll join the throngs awaiting the super short 'walking of the apostles' show. This medieval wonder has more to offer though, wait till the chiming is over and get up close to check out the astronomical dial and other moving sculptures, including Death, Vanity, Miser and Turk.
