Free? Hooray!

I love flowers, especially roses. This garden is free for the public. There's also guided tours available so check out their website to find out more information. This is attraction is a must visit with extremely limited parking. Go early to avoid the crowd.

This is a beautiful garden filled with millions of roses and hundreds of different hybrids -- with various colors, shapes, and sizes. I love roses, so I was in heaven. There is also an amphitheater, which is a lovely place to bring a picnic. And best of all, it's all free!

BEAUTIFUL! There are literally roses everywhere! From what I was able to gather is they create their own rose hybrids.
Don't walk there! It is a long walk. Take the Max or the bus and then wait for the shuttle.
It is all free so make sure you check it out!

Absolutely stunning - even if flowers are not your thing. The scents, alone, are worth the visit. Fabulous views over the city, too.

This place is a must see for anyone with green fingers. There are dozens upon dozens of rose varieties in this well laid out garden with commanding views of downtown Portland. If you are lucky you can catch the volunteers at work who will take the time to answer any questions you might have.

Beautiful rose garden in Portland. Definitely a must stop if you love flowers. Did I also say, it was free? If you come after 5pm, you don't have to pay for parking. DOUBLE FREE!

You can spend a good 30 minutes walking around and "smelling the roses". Now you know why Portland is the Rose City.

RCTID!!!

The world-renowned International Rose Garden is amazing... when there are roses! we visited the Rose Garden in January, in the winter, right after a snow storm, and all the roses were gone! Sadly, we came at the wrong time, but based on photos and the layout of the garden, we could imagine the beauty of the Garden when it's fully blooming!!! Nevertheless, it was cool to check it out and visit the (non)Rose Garden as one of our stops in Portland. Definitely will make it back out here to see the Garden in all its beauty come spring or summer!

Im always amazed that this stunning garden is free. The smell is heavenly as you approach. It is just below the tennis courts in Washington park with a gorgeous view of downtown. Plenty of photo ops for sure!! There are Shakespeare productions in the park as well as various concerts and outdoor movies on summer evenings. If you pack a picnic there is ample space either in the shakespeare garden or in the arena to sit and enjoy it. It is pretty sizable and varied. If you have little kids the playground just below is wonderful and shady. There is plenty of parking. ( they just recently started charging so be sure to remember your spot # for the pay station!) total Must see for PDX locals and visitors alike.

If you're wondering why Portland is known as the City of Roses, this is the answer. This free garden within Washington Park is a delight for anyone who has a remote interest in horticulture. There's roses in every colour imaginable.

No easy stroller or wheelchair friendly access unfortunately. If you think you know what a rose smells like? Smell again, sone smell like pepper, vanilla, warm sunshine, or traditional perfume but keep your mouth closed or you'll be tempted to take a bite. . Don't miss Shakespeare's garden to the south or the Japanese garden to the west and up the hill, the kids park below.. The natural amphitheater is a great kids place to run and the perfect picnic pizza spot for couples and families. If it's sunny you may stumble upon a native Oregonian sunbather so bring your shades!

We were in awe of how many different types of roses there were in this garden, as well as how beautiful and big the garden was. You can easily get lost in the rows of rose bushes. Even my husband loved it.
