Port Antonio Holidays

A magnet for foreign visitors during the 1950s and 1960s, the quiet town of Port Antonio can feel more like an isolated backwater at times. But with ongoing redevelopment of the harbour, things here are changing. Though Port Antonio has no dedicated attractions save the new waterside promenade, it's a friendly and beguiling place with a bustling ... Read more

Port Antonio

Like many of the islands in the Caribbean, Jamaica is blessed with gorgeous weather year-round. Temperatures hardly ever rise above or below perfect beach weather, staying between the mid-70s and upper-80s ... Read more
(23-31). The island sees the most visitors in the winter from mid-December through mid-April, when northerners flee bad winter weather back home. Visiting during this time of the year means more crowds and higher prices, so be sure to book your hotel far in advance, especially around Christmas. For lower prices, head here in April and May before the summer rains hit. You’ll save the biggest bucks over the summer, but it comes with a different price: heavy rainfall and the potential for a hurricane.

Port Antonio is with no doubt in one of the most beautiful Parishes of Jamaica: Portland.
Everybody who has traveled the island will tell you to come here if you don't want to find your self in a tourism trap.

I stayed in Port Antonio for about 3 months, the town is small and pretty relaxed.
It is the perfect place to discover the untouched nature of the Island, as it is close to many charming beaches, waterfalls and the famous Blue Lagoon.

I love the colorful houses of the town centre, so if you are here, do not forget to stroll around and get some local food from the many bars and restaurants that you can find on the main roads.
