This is an amazing zoo working hard to promote conservation. Fun exhibits and friendly volunteers really make this zoo experience. Ask any staff members anything about the animals and they'll do their best to give you as much detail as they can

Beautiful place to while away the afternoon. Great walking paths, accessible animals, great habitats and right next to Desert Botanical Gardens.

The Phoenix Zoo is a great place to spend the day. Lions and Tigers and Bears... Oh My. While you're at it, pop right next door and visit the Botanical gardens.

I've been to a lot of metropolitan zoos, and the Phoenix Zoo is pretty typical: a wide range of exotic species (African lion, squirrel monkeys) and a minor focus on local fauna (bald eagle, black-footed ferrets). The place is clean and well managed, and unlike a lot of northeastern institutions, the Phoenix Zoo put savanna animals in a familiar climate.

Within Papago Park confines and 10 minutes away to the west; great zoo for adults and kids as well. Reasonable entrance fees and concessions, wheel chair accessible, new exhibits all the time and very user friendly.

I loved this zoo. You really could interact with the animals. I got to feed the giraffes and pet the goats ☺️

About 10 minutes from the house. It's best visited from October thru April when everyday is like heaven. We have one of the best Zoo's in the Country. Great for kids and the entire family. I would recommend taking the kids there for the day or a great date.

This is a great zoo to visit, even without kids. Great setting, well maintained grounds, the animals look happy and healthy. Our favorite part was getting up-close and personal with the giraffes and being able to feed them (you have to pay a little extra for this). There is a nice petting zoo for the little kids. If you are from another city/state and have a membership at the local zoo there, make sure you bring your membership card and check if they would give you a discount (we got 50% off).

They have a decent collection of animals as well as facilities for younger children to occupy themselves. There is a lake in the middle that has various small water activities that one can pursue. For the most part, the demonstration exhibits are acceptable, but some of the big cats are in smaller enclosures than they should be.

Excellent resource for taking kids and adults alike. Plan on making at least 1/2 of it. Maybe visit the nearby botanical gardens as well. The two are very close to one another.

This event has been an annual tradition for me since I was a child. It never gets old. The lights are beautiful. Perfect for a romantic evening out or a family outing. If you're in Phoenix around the holidays this is a must go. It gets pretty crowded right before Christmas, so the best time to go is between Christmas and New Year's or after New Year's.

If you want to go to a zoo, this is it. Spend the day or the evening wandering amid the animals as they watch you watch them.

The zoo is pretty fun and not so big that you'll get tired out and overwhelmed easily. One tip: When visiting, aim for early spring or fall. Summers can be so hot that many of the animals will just hide in their enclosures and you could miss a lot.
