If you feel like splurging, the Palomar might be the best hotel in Phoenix. It's in the heart of downtown, right near the convention center, the stadium, and a zillion (GREAT) restaurants. I came here the first time for a Fourth of July party at their rooftop pool, which was ridiculously fun. It's a strange mix: The upscale rooms and eateries also really cater to young jet-setters. The service is impeccable, but you can still walk around in tanks and shorts and feel comfortable.

I loved almost everything about this hotel. I appreciated the huge lobby with eye-catching art, the outdoor pool and bar and the on-site restaurant Blue Hound. This is probably Phoenix's hottest hotel right now. It's right downtown and nearby many attractions like the talking stick arena and a bunch of good restaurants. I loved the spacious rooms complete with a faux leather closet, big bed, Tv and a desk. Each room also has desert themed art too.,Be sure to ask for a room with South mountain views if you want a great vista that showcases the best of Phoenix. My only complaint about this hotel is that it's a little hard to find.

I have to say I love the Palomar. The Lustre Rooftop Bar is one of my favorite bars with a view in Phoenix. That's saying a lot, because Phoenix (and Scottsdale) are full of beautiful patio bars. But the Palomar is something else. It's brought some much-needed cool to downtown Phoenix. (Rumor has it that Madonna stayed here the last time she was in this part of the world). The lobby is small, but chic. Continue up to the third floor for more cool, eclectic design (there's a nice mix of wood, metal, and seemingly random pops of color and unusual objects). In the lobby, there's a sweet blue dog statue and a spot for dogs to enjoy water and a dog treat. The hotel is home to Blue Hound, a gourmet small bites restaurant and bar. The nice thing about staying here (aside from the chic factor) is that it's easy to get around, and you have access to all the shops and restaurants at the CityScape complex. While downtown Phoenix may still be on the sleepy side (compared to other large cities), the Palomar proves that it's getting better and cooler all the time. One downside is the parking cost of staying downtown.

Great bars and restaurants there. Excellent southern and eastern views of South Mountain and Chase Field from the Pool Bar and Club

I love this hotel. The location is directly in downtown Phoenix, in a structure called Cityscape. The hotel is trendy and vibrant, and the perks of being a guest include dogs welcome, a rooftop garden pool with a restaurant and bar, and entrance into the Gold's Gym Elite across the walking path.

The Hotel Palomar in Phoenix was comfortable, clean, and trendy. I didn't spend too much time in the room, but spent plenty of time out by the pool, and returned to the poolside bar for a post-wedding event. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
