My first time in Philly and was so glad I stayed in this hotel. Check-in was a breeze! Beautiful room, reasonably priced, friendly staff, close to everything. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. There are different sitting areas in the lobby area which is nice. The hotel is in the heart of downtown. Everything is in walking distance. Location couldn't be better. Next to metro, train, bus, you name it. So many good restaurants. The Reading Terminal Market was right around the corner. City Hall and Dilworth Park was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is connected to the Philadelphia Convention Center. You do not have to step outside when attending an event there. There is also a 24 hour 7 days a week FedEx Kinkos inside the hotel.

Great amenities with accommodating staff and easy access to everything to enjoy your stay. You should definitely have a walkabout and explore the area, loads to do, with a lovely food market steps within reach. If you are the pub crawling, shopping, sightseeing type, you are covered, make this Marriot downtown Philadelphia the spot. Five solid stars!

I stayed in this hotel for a week for a work related training. The last day of the training both my personal and work laptops were stolen from the training room with in a six minute window. In addition they also stole the projector which was chained down. The only persons who would have known we were in there were the staff and the training attendees. All of us who attended the training are professionals who own both laptops and projectors and have no reason to steal either. I'm not blaming the hotel for the laptops being stolen because "things happen". However I am disappointed in the way that it was handled. The security was very rude and nonchalant. They barely wrote down information from me. When I asked if they could look at surveillance they stated that I would need a subpoena for that. I called the Philadelphia police to file a report and the security was also rude to the police officer. The officer informed that she was also disappointed in how they treated the situation and myself. The training I attended spend thousands of dollars for us to attend and you would think that we would be treated better. The claims department of the Marriott stated that there is nothing they can do because its not covered under there insurance. I mostly upset that I was later informed that things are stolen from this hotel all the time. If I had known that I would have not brought personal items to the hotel. I wasn't even offered apology. Having such important items stolen from from a room that only staff had access to at the time makes me feel very violated.

0 star for this bad hotel. Or even below zero star, IMO.

This hotel mostly is for people stay for all kinds of meeting; event, etc. It's got one big, big, big issues are theirs staffs are very, very, very rude, and extremely, extremely, extremely discrimination both security and supervisor (and others) they're all a piece of shit. I can go on and on about how they treat customer or the way how they racial discrimination to ones that they thinks they can bullying without any problem at all. I'm telling you, they're so f_ _ _ing wrong. One day, they will find out. :-(

When I walked into this hotel, I felt as though I had entered an airport on a busy day. The place was bustling. Later I learned from a kind staff member that a citywide convention was in effect, so it makes sense that the hotel was buzzing and booked solid since it’s connected to the convention center. Also connected? A FedEx center, a full Starbucks and a restaurant. The lobby is huge and bright and nice place to hang out–I know this because there seemed to be a ton of people hanging out in the lobby, more than half of them with laptops. Were they all staying there? Maybe. Overall, this is the perfect hotel to stay in if you’re attending an event at the convention center. All you need (food, bars, entertainment, attractions) are a walk away.

Great place to stay. In walking distance to tons of great restaurants and the train station is connected to the hotel. Also right across the street is Reading Terminal Market that has almost every type of cuisine in there. From fresh oysters to Cajun to Indian. Just to walk through and sample food is fun.

Stayed here for a wedding last March. Very nice room. The place is humongous! We also had brunch in their Restaurant 13 which was very good. We are going to book rooms here for my daughter's wedding next summer including a brunch as well.

Typical Marriott, it is in a great location on Market St next to City Hall. South Broad st is two blocks away. Great place to stay if you are going to ball games. You can either drive down S Broad or take the subway.

So far so good! Front desk allowed for an early checkin and I mean early - 10am, also I noted it in my reservation, but still come on that is awesome. Complimentary green apples at the front desk and on our way to our room ran into house keeping and I asked for extra shampoo and conditioner for my horse hair and I got it. Comp baby waters waiting for us in the room, our very, very clean room! Like I said so far so good!

Very large and beautiful hotel. I loved being across the street from my favorite place in Philadelphia, the Reading Terminal Market. I didn't like the crowds and I got a bit lost going to and from my room, which was very nice. More technology than I'd personally use, but everything was new and clean and comfortable.

What a grand palace of a hotel. This Marriott recently underwent a $64M renovation and it shows. The place is massive and has everything. Rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs, media plug in stations and all the usual high quality Marriott linens. Fantastic location connected to the convention center, across the street from Reading Terminal Market and next door to the Hard Rock. The only criticism is that it's perhaps to big. The lobby can feel like Grand Central Station during a snow storm. And if you're room is at the wrong end of the hotel, you have hike in front of you to get to the pool and gym. But still nice and locations in Philly don't get better than this.
