It’s nice here. It’s exactly what one would expect from a boutique hotel: small, yet tastefully decorated and cozy lobby, nice and helpful staff, and clean comfy rooms that you’ll feel at home in right away. If you are in search of a hotel with a suite, I think this hotel has one of the best suite layouts in the city. Honestly, I really couldn’t find anything to complain about here. If you’re looking to do some shopping while you’re in town, you’ll love staying at this place because there are many shops around: Zara, H&M, Urban Outfitters, BCBG, Sephora and more. Also close to Rittenhouse Square Park, one of Philadelphia’s best people-watching spots. What really sets this hotel apart from the rest in the area is car service – on a first come first serve basis, you’ll have your own personal driver to zip you around town.

I could do without the giant blown up photos of John Wayne and Lucille Ball or whoever it is. This is Philadelphia, not California. I dunno, maybe there's some history there I don't know about...but other than that cheese factor, Latham is very cool place. It feels a lot less stuffy than most other Center City 4-star hotels. Maybe it was even just the young staff that made it feel that way. The room was nice... I would actually decorate my home the way they styled the rooms if I had that kind of money. The decor didn't feel at all cheap or like they purchased everything in bulk from a catalog. I guess that's because it is a relatively small hotel and they can pay attention to the details. I dig it.

The Latham has a unique retro-Hollywood meets modern Philadelphia style, but what I liked best about it was its turn of the century history as a downtown apartment building. It feels small and personal despite having over a hundred rooms. Free (and good) coffee in the lobby at just about any hour is always a huge plus is my book. The room was really nice and I could tell it had recently been remodeled and updated. I was in a corner room with huge windows that gave me an awesome view of city life below, and a peek of Rittenhouse Square just a few blocks away. The staff was exceptionally friendly, which is really what makes this place stand out above other center city hotels that are all style and little personal substance.

Stayed here a couple of times when I needed some place at the last minute. Really a three star hotel, not four, but an easy one nevertheless. Still I tend to think the Warwick and the Sofitel are better for business travelers.
