Truly one of the world's architectural masterpiece, sheer scale alone is staggering, and those willing to dig into the cathedrals thrilling history will unearth a tale that starts with James 1 of Aragon and includes the likes of Antoni Gaudí.

La Seu (Catedral de Mallorca) is the jewel in the crown of Mallorcan architecture. It offers the best views of Palma and is one of my favourite buildings in the world.

I've seen a lot of churches in Europe, but this one is certainly more memorable. It is worth it to go inside and afterwords, enjoy a beer at the Guinness pub by the artificial lake.

This gothic cathedral located in Old Town is THE must see in downtown Palma. The views from the edge of the sea deliver stunning sights of the imposing architecture that dwarfs everything it surrounds. The outside stuns, but the inside delights. The entrance is six euros a person (no student or elderly discounts) and well worth it. The stained glass, vaulted ceilings, and gorgeous chandelier, that looks like something created for a Tim Burton film, offer countless opportunities to be awestruck. Take your time and explore the cathedral from back to front. You'll love it.

One of the most spectacular gothic cathedrals in the world. And the only one that is reflected in the sea.
