Well worth getting up early in the morning to line up for tickets to the Parliament tours. They are first come first served. The architecture and beauty of the buildings in addition to the history is essential to learning about the nation's capital as well as Canada. In the summer visit it after dusk for the Northern lights illumination light show about the Parliament fire and the building of a nation.

Very obviously a popular spot to visit during your stay in Ottawa. There’s tour options available all year round and I highly suggest checking out the peace tower for the breathtaking view at the top!

The master piece to every visit in Ottawa, Parliament Hill is the seat of Canadian politics and culture. Better known as “the Hill”, these buildings dating from 1866 and built in a Gothic style are much worth a guided tour. I especially recommend taking time to visit the library which is one of the nicest one in the world.

Stunning architecture, lawns, views and historical statues. During the summer enjoy Wednesday noon Yoga on the lawn of Canada's Parliament or each evening a stunning light show depicting the history of Canada.

Classic historical and current site of government. A must see in Ottawa. Surrounded by other great places to visit such as the Chateau Laurier, Rideau Canal locks, Ottawa river, Gatineau, many museums and family/coules parks.

You can go to visit this national well-known spot by scheduling a tour with some tour guide. During summer, there is 3-D onsite musical show broadcasted by Canadian Travelling organizations.

Home to Canada's parliament. Tours every hour, and if you go on the weekend you can see the actual chambers. Tours are also free, and if you're lucky, you'll get to see some free speech in action.

From outside the views are fantastic. At night time it is lit with lights, perfect for a leisurely walk. During the day you may arrange tours of the various blocks that offer insight into Canadian government and history. I highly recommend the tours for families.

Nice place to visit. Great architecture and a place for your quintessential photo op in Canada's capital. Would interest history, politics and architecture buffs. There's a nice lookout from the back of the buildings as well. Sometimes they light up the building too, not sure of the times when that happens maybe around July 1 - Canada Day.

Modelled after the British parliament, the Canadian version sits ironically on the Ontario-Quebec border, representing the joining of french and english Canada. A beautiful building and the HQ of one hell of a country :)
