There is plenty to do here on the island. Just have to get out there and find it. Plenty of publications to choose from to help guide you on your adventures.

Okinawa is one of the most beautiful islands in the world. The people are the nicest of tge world. I noticed everybody is happy there from the housekeeper to the bank clerk.

Great beach and nice Japanese resort, but not much to do at night. Good for 3-4 days.

I got to live here for almost four years. I had my second daughter here, she has an Oriental birth cert. It was a wonderful time in my life. I got to learn at the age of 19 how other people lived and learned so many new things. My dream is to one day take my two daughters & go back to visit.

While doing a study abroad in Osaka, Japan for a semester, a few students and I hopped a flight down to the southern most island of Japan, Okinawa. Distinct from the rest of the Japanese Archipelago, Okinawa is truly a remote and diverse island. Temperate weather and stunning landscapes permeate year-round. "Off Season" is an excellent time to visit, November to be exact. Hotels and flight fare will be cheaper, along with little distraction from an abundant tourist scene.
I recommend going to Manza Beach during the day for sun and then Manza Cliffs for the perfect sun-set. Take a city tour in Shuri and visit the Shuri Castle overlooking the ocean. After, duck into a Shansin Shop where the owner might give you a piece of snake skin which he uses to build the stringed instrument.
The seas are warm, the people are friendly and the food is most replenishing. My trip lasted only a few days, but was plenty for me to undulate in the majesty of Okinawa.
