Nimes along with Arles has some of the best Roman ruins outside of Italy. You definitely need to check out the coliseum, which still hosts bull fighting in the fall. The Roman temple Maison Carré is also a must see.

Out of this world. This is one of the most amazing structures you will ever witness, in an unforgettably-beautiful setting. Witness firsthand the wonders of Roman engineering virtually untouched.

Small French town with several Roman buildings including the beautiful coliseum. Plus some very chic stores.

A cute town with an "old town" in the center with shops and al fresco restaurants. A fun indoor market to stroll through. There is a Roman tower on a hill overlooking the town that is worth the climb for the view. Near other points of interest.

The city itself felt a bit worn down, but the atmosphere was good and if you are into history there is a lot to look at.
