The line moves Quickly which is great since I have five children. The ponchos fit perfectly, and we didn’t feel like we are too crowded on the boat. They all got to see the falls up close and personal and we loved it

Maid of the mist brings you close and personal to the falls. Take a boat ride up to the falls and feel the roar and beauty of it all.

The boat starts ofg at a calm part of the Niagara River, near the Rainbow Bridge, and take its passengers past thr Amerucan and Bridal Veil Falls. Then into the dense mist of spray inside the curve of the Horseshoe Falls, and also known as the Canadian Falls.

Highly recommend for adults and kids. You can go on u.s. side or Canadian side. Not badly priced. It's an amazing lil boat ride next to the falls. You can see the real beauty of the falls right in front of you and the power of the water. Went on a family trip and it was the families favorite part of visiting the falls.

Maid of the Mist is one great experience. Be sure to do this when you visit Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. It gets you on a close encounter with the Falls. Really really awesome! Be prepared to get wet even with your raincoat on.

Do it. JUST DO IT. You'll regret not doing it. Just don't look at the people getting off when you get on.

Take this boat trip into the mist of Niagara Falls. You can wear the poncho but you won't stay dry. It is exhilarating and one of life's golden moments to get soaked at Niagara.

An amazing experience to get up close with the Falls from a view you can obviously see from no where else but right at the base! Luckily, we had the choice of being the last ones on the boat before ours or the first ones on the next boat - we elected the next boat. As the first ones on the next boat, we had our pick of anywhere we wanted to stand and we ran right to the top deck front and center. And it was awesome! You start to experience the strength of the Falls when passing by the American Falls. But not until you drive right up to the Horseshoe Falls and sit right there do you really understand how powerful and incredible these falls really are! The boat sat at the bottom of the Horseshoe Falls for about 10 minutes and risking my iPhone's life I pulled it out and snapped pictures while getting DRENCHED. Amazingly enough, my iPhone survived (I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing that) and the pictures were fantastic.

Maid of the Mist is a MUST when visiting Niagara! There's no better way to get right into the tremendous action of the Falls then taking a ride on this boat!

A ride on the Maid of the Mist is an absolute must. (And a sure fire hit at any age.) Basically, it's a boat ride from either the American or Canadian side that takes passengers so close to falls themselves--American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe--that you'll get totally soaked (unless, of course, you opt to wear the rain gear provided). The close-up views are spectacular too.....

The various incarnations of the Maid of the Mist have been taking passengers as close to the falls as they dare to go. I've taken the gondola over the whirlpool but not the Maid of the Mist. My parents recently took one of the jet boats that get really close.

Sure, you can watch Niagara Falls from on land, whether you're on the Canadian or US side of the border. But nothing beats hopping on board these boats for a trip extremely close to the base of the thundering falls, where you will get soaked with spray even if you're wearing one of those funny blue plastic ponchos they'll give you (and which I still use for backpacking today). Totally worth the money and the wait, no matter how long the lines are. Go early or late in the day for the shortest wait times and best photography light.

Don't miss out on this ride on the waters with the whole family. Bring your camera's, but beware everyone will be trying to get the same shot. Even though your wearing the poncho, you will still get a little damp.....but well with it.

The Maid of the Mist was everything I hoped it would be. I grew up in Rochester, NY and visited the falls many times a a child. I always want to go on the Maid of the Mist, but was told by my parents that it was too expensive. I brought my two daughters with me and we had a blast! I wore a raincoat under the flimsy blue poncho that they give you, and STILL got soaked...lol. It was totally worth it. You feel like you are IN the falls. Unfortunately the credit card machine was broken when we went, so I had to use cash, and only had US$. It was no problem and they even gave me change in USD. Cross one off my bucket list!

Brilliant, but disgusted that they tried to sell me TWO photos for $30 and would let me buy just ONE. So I didn't buy any!!!!

You know a tourist attraction must be pretty good when it's been around for over 150 years. Take the Maid of the Mist tour when you visit Niagara Falls to feel the sheer big-ness of the falls. You'll sail directly into the spray of the falls, so be sure to cover yourself with your big blue rain parka they give you (large enough to fit purses and camera equipment inside).

Popular way to get up close to the falls! I liked it, but for the amount of time you wait in line compared to the amount of time you spend on the water, It´s not something I´d do more than once. On the other hand, It is brilliant to hear and feel the power of the falls, an obvious way to cool down!
