themselves, and enough electronic billboards to overload even the most entertainment-jaded eyes. Sometimes called the 'Crossroads of the World,' Times Square hosts the United States' most famous New Year's Eve party -- arrive early to stake out your spot. In the last few years, the area has become decidedly more pedestrian friendly with mini-parks in place of what used to be parking and roadways. Come, sit a spell, and watch the beautiful madness that is New York City play out in front of you. It's the best show on Broadway.

It's great to walk around and see all the lights, however it is waaay more enjoyable if you can go really late, after the shows let out. With all the tourists it can be damn near impossible to enjoy.

If you are in New York for the first time, you must go to Time Square. Forget about the talk that it is a tourist trap, is not. Take a lot of pictures and be amazed with the place

Naturally, every tourist comes here. But avoid it during the day because it's a mad house. The best time to go is at 11:58pm. Why so specific? Each night at midnight the billboards go dark for 1 minute and then light up with local artists, pictures, videos, music, from all over the city. It's called the midnight moment. Get a nice spot on the seats in the center of the square to experience the beauty. That's the best time to go to times square to get a feel of what NYC is really about.

We went to Good Morning America early one morning so I got to see Times Square very quiet. Then later in the day we went back and it was a madhouse. So if you want to see it without people, go at 6:00am! Otherwise it will always be slammed with people. Also, there’s a big coffee shop on the corner right there and the coffee tastes like dirt, but they do have a bathroom.

Iconic. Bright lights. Beautiful in its own way. Times Square is a place everyone needs to go once, but it can be a hectic nightmare.

You've seen the same photo of it on instagram, TV, films, and NYE. Well, it's much less exciting in real life. It's a genuine nightmare to navigate through as it's a huge tourist trap.

Granted you can't visit New York without at least walking through Times Square. Let's face it though once is enough! It's always super crowded so it can be impossible to walk through sometimes without having to fight your way through the crowds and getting taken by surprise by someone stopping dead in front of you to take a picture. I know it may be tempting but don't eat here. Walk a few blocks to Hells Kitchen as you won't pay the 'Times Square tax'. Eating on Times Square can get expensive!

One of my favorite places to go to people watch in the city, and, surprisingly, to meditate! With the bright lights, huge screens, music, languages from around the world, and vendors offering everything from food to keychains, there really is no place like it. A must see for anyone coming to NYC.

The most iconic and famous spot in all of NYC. Though consistently busy, you'll find the late night hours in the off season are less crowded, and the later hours of the night might even find it quieter, too. The center of NYC, be dazzled by all the lights, ads, sights, and sounds. There are several hidden restaurants nearby that are not chains, and every Broadway show you've ever dreamt of is nearby.

Way too touristy for my taste, but had to check it off the bucket list. Worth seeing.

People walk really fast around here! Driving around is harder than taking a subway and walking so just park your car and walk/sub for the entire trip! It is so fun to see the high rises and billboards as you walk around! Make sure you brought closed-toed walking shoes!

There is something here for everyone! So much to do. And if you’ve explored all the shops, even just people watching is so interesting in Time’s Square! Beware of the people in costumes, they will take pictures for you and then demand payment!

I love sitting in Times Square and taking in the excitement of New York. There’s something for everyone and every type of person is here. Sit and people watch, take in a show on Broadway, go late at night and realize the city really never sleeps. It’s a one of a kind experience, and different every time.

Go at night! It is quite a spectacle. Take the L train to Union Sq then transfer to the UPTOWN N or R train to 42st. Use the TKTS booth at 47th St for half priced day-of-the -show tickets for Broadway and Off-Broadway.

I love shopping near Times Square! Definitely worth a trip. My understanding is locals are not that enthused by it but for tourists it really is a must see and must do. Plus, parts of New York don’t charge taxes on clothes purchased under a certain amount ☺️
