Very fun place, many greats have performed here and still do. There is a cover charge, and get there a little early so you can get a good table.

The Comedy Cellar is an intimate, packed setting, which means the comedians often pick on the audience in their routines. You won’t mind though, as the Comedy Cellar has one of the most impressive past stars in the city, like big hits Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, and Chris Rock. Shows run Sundays through Thursdays, and have a two drink minimum. When the show’s over head upstairs to the public Charlie Chaplin themed Olive Tree, which has delectable spiked coffees and chalkboard tables (it’s one of my favorite places in the city!).

If you're a fan of stand-up comedy than look no further than the Comedy Cellar, the east coast home of stand up comedy. Most people will be familiar with the famous basement comedy club as it's featured in the intro to the sitcom Louie. This tiny club has been home to such greats as Louis CK, Chris Rock, Patrice O'Neal and Colin Quinn and on some nights you may even catch one of these legendary performers on a surprise visit. Do yourself a a favor and add this club to your comedy bucket list.

Pricey compared to UCB but a welcome surprise was the appearance of Louis CK and the new SNL cast member!

Best comedy club I have ever been to. The cover is usually pretty cheap (around $10) and there is a drink requirement but they are very reasonable. The pubs and clubs around are also fairly cheap (one of them had $1 beers when I was there).

One of the better places to see comedy in NYC. The biggest problem is that it's somewhat touristy, but the shows themselves are usually pretty solid. All in all, one of the better places to go to find something consistently funny.

A lot of good acts by some well credited comics... pretty funny stuff. Plus the food was good. Would definitely go back.

I have seen about a handful of celebrity comedians here.... everytime I come it is a therapeutic experience of intense laughter. The best comedy club in NYC hands down.

There are comedy clubs and then there is the Comedy Cellar. Warning! There are no frills to this place. It literally feels like a cellar and personal space may be an issue but overall, as a New Yorker I find it quite cozy and very much an authentic institution in this city. As for the most important ingredient in this concoction, the comedians? HILARIOUS!! Forget the line up on the web because it changes consistently. The group of funny talented individuals here which take the stage are nothing short of amazing. Make sure to make reservations in advance, especially for the weekends because this place fills up with locals "in the know".
