York City, the Blue Note was able to attract a variety of legends of the past, such as Lionel Hampton, Sarah Vaughan, Oscar Peterson and Tito Puente. Today, you should not find yourself surprised if you happen to see Tony Bennett, Liza Minnelli or Stevie Wonder in the audience. They may even get up to provide an impromptu performance. While you are listening to the world’s top jazz artists, help yourself to an item from the club’s menu of appetizers, soups, salad, entrées, desserts and wines. In addition, the gift shop contains a variety of collectibles, including CDs recorded live at the Blue Note. If you love jazz, then no trip to New York is complete without a night at the Blue Note Jazz Club.

Great spot for live music. So many music legends have performed here. Food and drinks are okay, but the music is amazing. The place is intimate, great for music lovers, romantic date, and/or a night out in NYC. I usually go during the weekend, but I hear that it's great during the week as well. Many out of towners frequent this place. It is located on West 3rd Street, which is a very lively street.

It was on 1 W. 3rd St (btwn. 6th Ave. & MacDougal St.). The Blue Note is arguably the world's most popular jazz club. World renown talent take the stage for six day runs, with Mondays usually reserved for excellent local talent. Two sets are 9:00 and 11:30. Prices are $35 for table reservations + minimum, or $25 cover at the bar. There is $5.00 cover charge for the Friday andSaturday late night jam sessions. Sunday brunch served Noon - 6 PM. Show times at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Amazing experience!

The venerable Blue Note Jazz Club is one of the premiere homes of NY jazz. Located in the hip West Village, the Blue Note has been a go-to date spot if I want to give the impression that I'm cool and cultured (because I'm not.) The Blue Note is surprisingly affordable and will give your evening a romantic vibe.

Great spot with wonderful jazz music! It lost a star only because the food isn't that great - but in the end you should go for the music and a drink, and it's absolutely wonderful!

One of my absolute favorite venues. This is a very intimate setting, great experience for any jazz artist. Here is the deal, you buy a ticket to a show but it is General admission seating. Get to the venue by 8pm for the late show (1030p) and you'll stand in line to get on to the list for seats, best seats are first come first serve. Honestly though any seat in here is a great seat. If you don't have tickets you stand in a separate line and depending on how popular the show is, you can purchase a ticket for standing room only at the bar which is in the back of the club with limited views. If you like Belgium abbey ales, check out the brother thelonious-dark rich and strong-you won't regret it :)

Went on an office outing to hear Odean Pope's Sax Choir. We got the best seats in the house, and the music was interesting and good. What would have made it better: The food: It's pricey and pretty meh. The staff: Didn't seem to care too much. When we went to check in with the host and said that we were meeting someone already there, he said "Yeah, he's here, but we don't keep track of where we seat people, you'll just have to find him." Our waitress was more concerned by the fact that we had three people seated at a table for five (two people were running late) than by anything else, until the organizer said he'd just pay for the empty seats, if it came to that. During "last call" which took place during the performance (i.e., we couldn't hear her very well) she asked us if we wanted anything else. One person said he wanted water - she said "I'm only concerned with things that could go on the bill." She did eventually bring the water, but the overt concern about everything having to do with money left a really bad impression.
But hey, it is a NY jazz institution, so I won't say don't go, just don't for the great food or service.

My friend owns the Blue Note and I've seen Chris Botti's Christmas show several times. This place feels like your a rebellious flapper in the 20's escaping to greenwich village for a fun night out.
Awesome experience

A New York institution, the sort of place that everyone should visit at least once. They have performances almost every single night, although the runs can be a little long so if you're not into the performer, you might have to wait a while for someone else. Right near Washington Square Park and million other things to do, there are plenty of places to eat and have a drink before or after.
