Definitely make a reservation in advance. Highly recommend the black label burger - they're known for it. Everything was fantastic, including service.

Classic New York steakhouse with a predominately French menu. The food is solid but the atmosphere makes this a must-visit. Always buzzing. Noisy and you should expect to get cozy with your neighbor.

Minetta Tavern is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Their Black Label burger is totally legit!

This Greenwich Village tavern was once hangout for such literary luminaries as Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, e.e. cummings, Joe Gould, the Beats, and Dylan Thomas. The place has gone though many transformations through the years and its current reincarnation under Keith McNally’s ownership has preserved much of the charm and traces of the past. The black and white checkerboard floors and chandeliers remain, as do the caricatures of Village characters filling the walls of the MacDougal Street restaurant. Go for the lit history, stay for the epic (and expensive) burger.

Believe the hype the burger is the best in the city. Bone marrow ain't to shabby either, worth the wait and price

I will just start out by saying... the burger; get the burger. The black label burger IS as good as everyone makes it out to be. The roasted bone marrow also leaves nothing to be desired. Also?! The grand marnier souffle is just bananas delicious. Pair all of this with some expertly crafted cocktails and that my friends, is what I like to call a meal.

Walking into Minetta Tavern is like hopping in a time machine back to old New York. Whether you're at the bar or a table, the service is always great. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but if you're a burger fan you must order their Black Label Burger, you won't find a better burger anywhere else.

This restaurant is everything you want and hope to see in a great New York restaurant. The 'king of New York,' Keith McNally, really did a wonderful job sustaining the character when he took over this long-standing New York restaurant. Minetta dishes out the best steak in town and arguably the best burger. The atmosphere at Minetta is second to none and the host is one of the greatest and most knowledgable NY restaurant guys around. And it doesn't hurt that the bar and cocktails are perfect.

Mmhm those are bones filled with marrow. Minetta Tavern is a real class act. One of the best burgers in the city, with a gorgeous French steakhouse menu. The decor is largely unchanged in the last 100 years, but the food is oh-so-up-to-date.

Minetta Tavern may be a top-notch restaurant with lots of great dishes on the menu, but none has been more heavily touted or highly praised than the Black Label Burger, and for $28, it had better be good. The burger starts with prime cuts of steak, dry aged to perfection, ground and formed into 8 ounce patties, tempered, and then grilled with grapeseed oil and clarified butter. A crust is formed around the meat, which allows the burger to retain its juiciness. The burger is then topped with perfectly cooked caramelized onions and a custom bun - a sweeter, eggier brioche with a dark crust, dotted with sesame seeds. The plate that arrives at your table may look simple and underwhelming, but once you take a bite, you won’t regret a single penny.

I have heard so much about their Black Label Burger and that it was "a must try before you die." However, I was extremely let down. I would recommend the Spotted Pig if you are looking for an exceptional burger.

Love this place - cool french bistro with mouth-watering food. typical nyc-cramped sitting spaces, but the vibe, food and drinks make this place a great date and family place.

Minetta Tavern is a good old-fashioned steakhouse, with a fancy twist that brings some excitement to the menu.

Clos de beouf = Delicious. I loved the bone marrow with the steak
Black Label burger = Good, but nothing phenomenal

OK, I trust Veronica and everyone else raving about the Black Label burger but that's not why we went here. We heard they had an outstanding French Dip sandwich, and as a matter of fact they did. That's apparently only on the lunch menu, and since we just sat at the bar we had no trouble getting a seat. Outstanding food and drinks here.

Besides the black Label Burger which it is well known for, the filet is amazing as well! Also the Bone Marrow is a great start. Reservations MUST be made 30 days in advance (on the day) for a reasonable time. Otherwise, eating at the bar is a great option - first come first serve.

Fun with friends, but very loud, so don't bring anyone with a hearing problem. Also not a good pick for the claustrophobic; My husband and I had a hilarious dinner here, when two guys sitting next to us regaled us with drunken ramblings about their college years. Loved the burger and the marrow, but the obscenely priced steak seemed a little excessive.

Ok whoever says “a burger is a burger” has not tried the Black Label Burger at Minetta. It’s on another level. It needs to be experienced. Just go haha. You won’t regret it.

Black Label Burger! Black Label Burger! Where else have you heard that uses dry aged beef as burger meat? It's one of the better burgers that I've had and very much worth checking out.

The restaurant itself has a very "old-school" New York feel to it, like a mobster was killed inside of it previously.

It is great for a group of friend or even a date.
