Description
The atmosphere at Employees Only was created to evoke the frivolous spirit of the 1920's and 30's. During Prohibition, patrons of speakeasies raised their glasses in defiance of the ban on alcohol. ... Read more
While there are many criminal aspects during this period that are not glorified, America has romanticized the roaring 20's as one of our first cultural revolutions. It was behind these closed doors that men and women first enjoyed the pleasures of drinking and socializing together. The mischievous attitude of Prohibition created legendary figures both real and fictional.

Get here before they open to get a seat at the bar. It was a great cocktail but was expecting more from their reputation.

Trendy place, speakeasy bar. Very popular place, you should make a reservation. Great food, fantastic drinks. The bartenders can make anything. Worth a visit.

One of the best cocktail bars in NYC. The bartenders here are pros. They can make anything you want, but its fun to let them surprise you with something unusual. Definitely get there early - this is the kind of place that has a line out front later on.

One of my favorite bars in New York , packed every night , great crowd and amazing cocktails . Hard to get in sometimes but if you start with dinner ( food is good !) and then move to the bar then you are covered for the entire night !

A bright red neon sign advertising a psychic means that you have arrived at this West Village clandestine drinking den. And there really is a tarot card reader whose services you can chance in the foyer, but there are other things to absorb first, namely cocktails that will leave you weak in the knees. The space is dominated by an impressive bar manned by white lab coat-wearing bartenders who shake, stir, and swirl boozy brews of perfection. Try the Billionaire Cocktail, which involves bourbon and absinthe bitters, or the not-to-be-missed scrumptious Mata Hari, which blends cognac and pomegranate juice with chai-infused vermouth and is topped with a dried rosebud garnish. Food is delicious and a late night menu served until 3:30am makes this a place not to be missed on nocturnal adventures.

One of my favorite spots in NYC, Employees Only offers a cool mix of people, great drinks and Art Deco surroundings. Awesome for after work drinks and ore dinner cocktails. Enjoy!

Definitely past it's prime and firmly in the B&T territory. Cocktails are good but the door is a bit faux pretentious. Has a great cocktail menu and everything is done quite well -- that said, "best" in the world as-claimed is a bit of a stretch.

Nice atmosphere. The staff are relatively friendly for this type of venue. Gets pretty crowded.

Food is okay but nothing to brag about. A solid option even if it is a bit hyped.

EO, or better known as Employees Only, is definitely one of my favorite bars in the West Village. Known for their discreet entrance and bartenders with authentic handlebar mustaches, this is a great place to come for a solid cocktail and intimate setting.

My favorite time to come is late night, or technically after midnight, because then and only then can you get access to the late night food menu. Yes, the regular hour dinner menu is great too with the steak tartar and bone marrow as standouts, but nothing compares to their truffled grilled cheese. No matter how much of a regular you are or who you know, you will not be able to order one until the clock hits midnight. So if you are in the neighborhood, try to time this one out perfectly and hold off the urge to eat until you can try this amazing favorite!

Also cool side note about EO - if you are there upon closing, at about 3:30 am they serve everyone their infamous chicken soup as a last ditch effort to please the customers and kick them out nicely. I myself have never stayed long enough for that, but it is on my list of things to accomplish!

One of the best manhattans in Manhattan. Steak tartare is a must have. They are open for dining until 2am or 3am, which for a chef is definitely a plus. Desserts are not to be missed either. I recommend going there with a couple of close friends late night.

Employees Only has a cool art deco interior that is a nice change from the gloss-up restaurant scene that’s taking over the city. Definitely check out the cocktail offerings as the evening brings surprises amongst the crowd that packs in steadily.

If you like a mean mixed drink this is the spot. A speak easy feel meets some excellent mixologists. Feels like a find.
