Great Mexican street food in a trendy location, the corn on the cobb is my favorite.

Do you believe in love at first bite? Well, it happened to me when I ventured to this cozy Cuban diner. I stepped in and I was immediately transported to a tiny street corner in Havana; with Buena Vista Social Club playing on the dingy speakers, one of those 1940's era metallic ceiling fans providing a gentle breeze, and a bar serving ice-cold mojitos. I ordered the Mexican style corn and the Cuban sandwich, and I felt a bliss that I haven't felt in a while. I was brought back to when I was a little kid when I used to eat Cuban sandwiches with my grandfather in a hole-in-the-wall cafe in Puerto Rico. At that very moment I fell in love at first bite.

The place is small and the wait is sometimes long, but trust me it's all worth. This is not just a restaurant, this is an experience that stirs all the senses. I'd recommend getting the Cuban sandwich, the grilled corn, along with a refreshing mojito.

Must be just like Cuba! At least in that it's seen better days... claims NYC's best Cuban sandwich which was delicious and huge so makes for great sharing with a friend. It's good, well priced, cute neighborhood joint if you enjoy local holes in the wall with a vibrant scene and friendly if clueless staff (which I do)!

If nothing else, come at least for the corn. But while you're there, you might as well get a sandwich. You'll leave with a very happy belly.

I've been coming to Cafe Habana for over 12 years! It's been a few years since I've been, but I used to always take out of town guest to this Lower East Side cafe. Delicious food, cool downtown scene and awesome service. I just came for brunch today and had the same great food at a great price! I don't think the prices have changed in the past decade.

You can't go wrong with the Cuban Sandwich or the Corn on the Cob. I also highly recommend Huevos Rancheros. The coffee is excellent, but I decided to go with a Dark and Stormy which hit the spot! Cafe Habana is a little on the small side, so seating can be a little cramped. If you can score a seat at the bar or one of the booths that would be ideal.

Overall, if you've got out of town guests and you want to give them a Lower East Side brunch experience, you can't go wrong with Cafe Habana! Or if the weather's nice and you want to great brunch experience come on down!

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!

I'm just drooling thinking about this place all over again!

Grilled corn Mexican style...CHECK!
Sopesitos...CHECK!
Cuban Sandwich...CHECK!
[even the shirley temple w/ pomegranate juice was amazing!]

This was my third trip to NY with the boyfriend and I have to admit, I thought there would be nothing new left to try, but I'm so glad I was wrong! For anyone who's never been and even for those who have, you have to come try this place! You definitely wont regret it.

TIP: We came here for dinner around 7:30 pm and there was no line...but it also could have been our lucky day! :)

Grilled corn and enchiladas suizas. I've been getting the same meal for years and I drag there all my friends visiting from out of town, any chance I get. I cannot get tired of this food.

I really wish that not every single damn guidebook from every county on the planet lists this place as a must go to place...because I love it...and it's small. So you should go somewhere else so I can eat here more often. Regardless the food is fairly priced...their Cubans are my favorites...yes the corn is great...and the combo Mojita-Margarita is muy bueno as well...The staff is fairly good looking as us the clientele

Amazing!! Delicioso! This place is everything you could ever hope for. They are so welcoming it feels like you're hanging out in your own kitchen but with the greatest chef ever. Fantastic food and the mojitos are perfection. I went on a weeknight and only had to wait 5 minutes but I hear it can be a pretty long wait on the weekends so be ready for that!

Cafe Habana is a very popular café in the bustling Lower East Side area, with good reason. The prices are decent for the area and the food is absolutely delicious—good choices for whatever you're looking for, from a relatively healthy steak-topped salad to a quite indulgent plate of fried plantains. Best to take the food to go and eat sitting on a bench in the sunshine during the lunchtime rush.

Great little Cuban spot. Always hopping. They don't take reservations so come early or plan to wait. You can also do take-out next door.

I don't really come to NY very often (maybe once or twice a year), but whenever I do, I always make a trip to Cafe Habana. Always crowded and always noisy, Cafe Habana is the place to go whenever you want a good pre-party dinner before you go out.

All the reviews for this place are true: the grilled corn is damn delicious. Definitely one of the best grilled corn's I ever had -- it's covered in cheese, chili powder, lime juice, and probably crack (which probably explains why it's so addictive). I also really like the Cuban sandwich.

Anyways, I love this place.

Great little place for the price. Be sure to get the grilled corn for $2 and a Corona while you're at it.
