What a neat little hotel! It's in the heart of Chelsea, so is really convenient to just about everything. The rooms are pretty small, but they're clean and comfortable. They have really kitschy circular windows - combined with the built-in teak furniture, it feels like you're staying on a boat. The bathrooms are really nice and the showers have good water pressure.

There's a club downstairs, so it can be kind of noisy at night, but nothing too bad, and it's NYC after all.

Fun fact: this used to be a real run down hotel where merchant marines at port in NYC would stay. Hence the name. It's all boutiquey now, but I think they kept some fun touches that really highlight the spirit of its former self.

Like the name suggests, the Maritime Hotel is a nautically-themed hotel in a former Maritime Union building built in the 60s. Stepping into this luxury boutique hotel feels like stepping back into time - particularly the Mad Men era. Beautiful wood accents and mid-century modern furniture give the hotel a nostalgic, but not camp feel. Standard rooms, made to look like cabin rooms in a ship, come equipped with spacious desks and porthole windows that give incredible light. The hotel is steps away from Chelsea Market, the High Line and trendy Meatpacking District. Below the hotel is Tao Restaurant and Nightclub, the scene for manys fabulous NYC nights.

This place is cool. I don't get a chance to stay at boutique hotels very often, especially not in New York City. It's like your on a ship but you never leave Chelsea. The windows are circular. The hallways are dark. The room is a little cabin on a cruise ship. The toiletries are locally made. Great neighborhood to be in New York. Tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping nearby. Close to the Village too.

The Maritime Hotel is not an usual place. The whole theme of Maritime hotel is a cruise ship. Their signiture porthole windows, white-tiled exterior, and elevated outdoor terraces overlooking Ninth Avenue... It is an unique landmark. You can recognize this building in the Ninth Avenue by looking at the round shaped windows. It was very comfortable and also felt like on a cruiseship with the dimmed lights. The green bathoom tiles, butterfly wall decoration and the comfortable green couch! The small room was well-equipped with good stuff! I also liked that they are using high quality bathroom products (shampoo, lotion, soup...).

A great place to hang out outside, enjoy a drink or some food with friends. There are also some great lounges within the hotel that can be great group handouts.

The Maritime Hotel is a great spot and has an interesting design to it (maritime themed, unsurprisingly). The food is solid, the spot is interesting enough (close to meatpacking district and Chelsea), and the happy hour is a good option. The Hotel has a downstairs club, which they claim is only for special events, but is open at night, at least on weekends. It's a good time, and sometime features performances. The biggest downside is that the hotel isn't so trendy anymore, but seems to think itself as a place to be. Other than that, it's a good time.

This property in the Meat-Packing district is trendy and full of hipsters!
From the outside it looks like a ship with portholes. Inside there are several restaurants and the a couple of very cool bars. The staff is attractive and attentive.
The decor is modern and the vibe is "chill". A great place to hang out and people watch.

I discovered Maritime Hotel 6 years ago when I first moved to NYC. On a nice summer night, The Maritime Hotel outdoor restaurant is still the place to be. Try the robiola pizza, you will not be disappointed.

Not a fan of the overly literal ship design and really not a fan of the weird location in the dodgy part of Chelsea, but I do like the restaurant, which counts for something.

The Maritime Hotel is not quite as famous as its counterparts in New York City, but it's definitely a beautiful place to stay. The lobby and bar are both well decorated, making it a cute spot.
