Voted one of the best bars in America over and over. Go in, have a drink, and soak in the luxury of the Hotel Monteleone!

The famous carousel bar that does spin, albeit thankfully slowly. The place is a tourist magnet and gets crowded quick, but the cocktails are decent.

This is the second most unique bar I’ve been too! The main bar is circular and slowly moves. Spots can be difficult to come by but you can grab a seat in the lounge and watch for an opening. The bartenders are standing in the center of the room while the bar rotates around them. Watch out though because the only way they can get in & our is to jump over the bar! This is a great place to catch a drink and enjoy a new experience!

An upscale bar that spins along a carousel. Good luck finding a spot at the bar though.

So this bar is pretty neat because the bar goes around like a carousel. It takes 15 minutes to come back to your start point. Aside from that, the bartenders are pretty nice and attentive! Since there are limited seats and there are always people waiting to grab a seat, so the staff does tries to get you everything you want as quickly as possible so you can go and others can sit.

If you’ve ever felt like you were spinning after drinking a little too much, then this place may give you some serious deja vu. Located inside the famous Monteleone hotel, the Carousel Bar features a bar and seating on an actual carousel which makes one rotating every 14 minutes. The place is large and luxurious with plush seating, chandeliers, art and a 20’s vibe. The hotel has been continuously operating since the 1880’s and the bar has been home to regulars such as Hemingway, Liberace and Truman Capote. Check the schedule for live music listings, Lena Prima plays often and is fantastic!

Tourist go here. Drinks are fancy and if you want service you'll need to tip very well. If you want to sit at the bar you'll need to get there early.

Don't lose your friends! The Carousel Bar is designed and turns just like a carousel at the fair would. This upscale bar is a popular destination for locals that work in the area and tourists both staying at the Monteleone and those that get word of this unique watering hole.

Splurge on a cocktail here and sit at the revolving bar. It's designed as an actual carousel, and is set in one of the most beautiful hotels in NOLA. Try the Ramos Gin Fizz!

Touristy bar in the Hotel Monteleone with a rotating circular bar as a carousel. Drinks are good, but the bar is a little worn out and filled with a tourist crowd

Walked by here on the way to dinner. Heard a super happening place around the bend and saw all these people lounging on couches and around a bar while listening to live jazz. WIN. BOOKMARKED. When we finally made it back here the next night, we seem to have missed the jazz since it was just the background of bar chatter. So lesson to you folks if you hear the jazz, follow your ears.

The inside of this bar is unique from the other hotels in that the entire bar is built on a revolving carousel. One minute you are sitting by the door, and within 10 minutes you are on the other side looking at it. A few of the other bar patrons and I were timing the rotation on our phones, so if you're into those sort of things, I'll leave that math problem to you.

-=-Sazerac-=- standard typical, not too special, and not horrible. There were a couple special cocktails for those that like that, but I like to stick to the classics.

Whether you check into this hotel or not, the carousel bar should not be missed. This is a swanky place to grab a drink and spin around for a bit.

A Rotating Bar!!!! def lives up to its name :D love it so much.

This is one of my favorite bars in NOLA. Only thing that sucks it's so popular, finding a seat at the carousel bar is a challenge on a busy night. First night in nola I went here on a wednesday and the seats were full and had live music in the back. I was only there for few minutes but that was my favorite jazz band I heard throughout my 5 days in nola.

Another night we went back to the bar but it was still full so we left.

Friday during the day I found a seat and the couple next to us was nice enough to move over so my bf could sit next to me. The couple timed the bar to see how long it'll take for us to go all the way around (about 16min).

The drinks were pricey but delicious. Bartender was nice.

A famous and fun bar in one of the most famous hotels in the French Quarter, the Monteleone, on Royal Street. The circular bar designed as a carousel rotates. It's great!

The cocktails here are classic, but they take a backseat to the fact that you're riding a carousel while you drink them. Okay, you sit on a bar stool rather than astride a painted horse, but you'll have made one full revolution around the room every 15 minutes. There's a stationary bar at the back for the queasy serving the same famous fare: Sazeracs, a Brandy Milk Punch that's quite nice for breakfast (no matter what anyone tells you), as well as cocktails invented at the Carousel Bar. The drinks are a bit pricey, but it's worth it for the experience.
