One of the best places to eat in Delhi, this restaurants serves all the staples of Indian cuisine and - as it is all across India - has a very large vegetarian (though hardly vegan) selection. It is a great place to try the tandoori chicken (chicken marinated in spices and then chargrilled). Highly recommended.

One of Bill Clinton's favorite restaurants (presumably from before he went vegan), Bukhara serves some of the richest, heaviest food in all of Delhi. They specialize in NW Frontier cuisine, which has its origins in NW Pakistan. Most of the dishes here are based around meat, but as with most restaurants in India, there are plenty of veg options. Note that although this is one of the finer restaurants in town, guests are expected to eat with their hands, traditional style (although silverware is available upon request).

We had to wait for over an hour to be seated, but once we sat down, it was a great experience! You can order a giant-sized naan to share with your table, which is a fun treat. The food is all eat-with-your-hands style, which I didn't particularly like, but the food was amazing!! The lamb was so tender it fell off the bone, and the chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The owner came out at the end of our meal and gave us a free dessert too. That's probably not standard, but we had a very large group, so I thought it was a nice touch.

A traditional North India restaurant located in the ITC Mauraya Sheraton Hotel in the heart of the city. The place is famous for its Dal Bukhara and it claims to be the best in the world at making it. The ambiance is quintessentially one of a rustic hinterland of northern India. The staff here is extremely friendly, don't hesitate to ask them for any recommendations from the menu. The guests here are encouraged to eat using their hands instead of cutlery, making this a complete Indian experience. Last but not the least, try the Presidential platter having delicacies preferred by the ex US president Bill Clinton. Average cost of a meal for 2 is around INR 7000 (the place doesn't charge you anything for service).
