We had the best time here. There was great live music, the bartenders were hilarious, and the drinks were cheap during the day.

Much smaller than I imagined. Definitely a unique place with the feel of Nashville. At least pop your head in and check it out!

Tootsie’s is in the honky tonk area of Nashville. There’s a rooftop bar with live country music.

Three stories not much waiting at the bar even when it's packed because they have multiple bars and beer tubs to grab a cold one! Great outdoor areas and live bands constantly!

You have to come here when in Nashville, Tootsie is one of the oldest bars on Broadway. There are three floors of great live music! We stayed on the top floor on the rooftop to check out the view of Broadway and to list to a great band.

All the Grand Ole Opry stars used to come in here, and the modern young artists from Music Row slip in and out from time to time...

Party cental USA, need I say more! Bands and bands and more bands ... always crowded, so be warned.

This lounge (bar) is immediately behind the original Grand Ole Opry and performers at the Opry used to come to the bar to get ready to perform.

Super famous bar here in Nashville! Must see but beware, it will be crowded! But there are plenty of other hot spots in walking distance!

Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, a Nashville country music institution and world-famous honky-tonk, has operated across the alley from the Ryman almost continuously since 1960. Its proprietor from 1960 to 1978, Hattie Louise “Tootsie” Bess, bought the lounge called “Mom’s” and named it for herself. According to tradition, a painter mistakenly painted the exterior orchid purple. The color was never changed and became Tootsie’s signature color. Over the years, she served such famous customers as Kris Kristofferson, Faron Young, and Willie Nelson when they were still up-and-coming artists, and Tootsie was well-known for her generosity toward struggling musicians. The photo- and memorabilia-lined walls are called “Tootsie’s Wall of Fame.” A portion of the Loretta Lynn biopic “Coal Miner’s Daughter” was filmed inside Tootsie’s.

Live music and great staff got an awesome experience out! Would definitely recommend. The bands change all the time--the one we saw played a ton of different songs and covers of popular tunes from today! Super impressed.

Not for locals!!! Tootsie's is typically packed, as in you have to squeeze and push your way through the crowd from front door to back and side to side. And good luck getting a drink in any decent period of time... During the winter primarily on a Thursday when the tourism mellow out it's not nearly as bad and all locals should go once unless you despise country music...although they do have classic rock nights occasionally. There are dozens of other live music "hole in the wall" bars that are actually worth going to!

I absolutely love this old bar! With four levels of fun everyone is bound to have a good time. We visited on a Friday night and they had three different bands throughout the establishment. Even though it was busy, we had no trouble getting drinks. Be sure to sign the wall next the the restrooms on the second level!
