the backstage tour was amazing! You sit through a short film on the history if you wish, and I suggest, and then you head on back and there's tour guides along the way to answer questions or give you stories every here and there, but it's pretty much self guided. You see the entrance where every star walks in, and their mailboxes, where you can write them a letter if you so choose. And you get to see all of the dressing rooms and the common area where all the stars hang out. And they don't mind if you sit on the couches where who knows who has sat there before you. The headliners dressing room is the only dressing room you can actually walk in, but you see all the others as well. Tour guides will tell you stories old and new and let you know who likes to use which rooms, but they're all themed so it's not too hard to figure out for some. Then you take a step through the curtain and walk on stage. And then head to the front microphone and stand in the circle where literally every Opry star since the beginning has stood. That in itself is amazing, for country fans or not, to appreciate. You then walk across the stage and learn about the soundstage next door where the film the show Nashville, and out into the auditorium and into a gift shop. The price is decent ( I think under $20 a person) and worth it in my opinion. You can take as much or as little time as you want since its self guided, and never be afraid to ask questions, the tour guides are amazingly nice and knowledgable. I would easily do another tour again!

There is always something going on at the Grand Ole Opry. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Check them out online and order. We prefer seating on the upper level or close on the floor (try to avoid seats under the upper level because you can get caught behind a column/post).

At the Opry House just around the corner from the Retreat at Two Rivers. All the stars and a great tour too. An amazing show even if you're not a huge country music fan.

Johnny Cash used to tuck a dollar bill into his guitar to get the percussion sound as the Grand Ole Opry used to ban drums on stage!

The prestigious stage of country music! I went on the backstage tour at The Opry and really enjoyed getting to know how special the building is to country music. The tour was 45 minutes and takes your to see the dressing rooms, lounges, talent entrance and a walk onto the most prized piece of wood in country music, on stage. You don't have to be a huge country fan to enjoy it, also the weekly shows are worth it too!

Not big fans of country music but when in Nashville...What a wonderful evening of wholesome (but not hokey), high quality entertainment. Each show includes several performers. The program is broadcast on the radio, complete with live old-time commercials. We enjoyed a great view from the balcony, but were able to get a closer look at the performers because of large screens. Avoid traffic jams and take a taxi. Be sure to visit the gift shop. You can't leave Nashville without attending a concert here.

I got a chance to tour the Grand Old Opry months after the Cumberland River flooded Nashville. I saw the markers in the Grand Old Opry showing how high the water got in the building. It's really nothing short of a miracle that they were able to salvage the building. I took the Opry tour, which takes you backstage and allows you to sit in the same chairs and couches, that the entertainers sit on before they go on stage. If you're at the Grand Old Opry, make sure you do the backstage visit.

The show was amazing! I went on a Tuesday and sat in the top balcony row q. Ticket was $39.50. It's bench style seating which was nice because my row wasn't full so we all had extra room. The People below us looked a little squished. From the top I could see and hear the show fine, there were big screens on the side with up close views of the singers. To get to the row I was on there were a lot of stairs! Wouldn't recommend for someone with trouble walking.

The grounds are beautiful. It's a must stop for any country, or music fan. There was an awards show being set up so I was unable to go in though.

Grand Ole Opry is a country music show and some of the show is done live. Disability access is provided. They have assistive listening devices available. Disability parking is limited and provide by the mall. Visit time is up to you depending if you are staying for a show.

There isn't a bad seat in the house. I liked that it was many different types of music, bluegrass, country, old and new. Something for everyone. Even the hosts were fun!

A visit to Nashville is not complete without seeing a show at the Opry. Even if you're nog into country music, it is something to behold, still being a live radio broadcast. We saw one of the Opry's heroes, Little Jimmy Dickens starting things of for us. After that, it was a mix of traditional singers (some more than 80 years old) and new talent. We had a great time and recommend a visit to everyone!

Not sure what I was expecting, but had an absolute blast at the Grand Ole Opry! It is still a live radio show, so it is a bit different. We did the backstage tour and it is WORTH the extra money. There is so much history built in that place, with stories dating back to the beginning. Each dressing room has a different theme and you even get to stand on the stage where the performs perform live each night. Experience of a lifetime!
