Absolutely loved Hostel of the Sun! Super social Hostel with a cute little bar that gets busy at night. Comfy rooms, great breakfast, fast wifi (I know I know but sometimes you need it), and the best staff I've come across so far. Always willing to help and make you make the most out of their city!

Lovely hostel near the water in Naples. The Castel Nuovo is just next door, as are several cheap sandwich shops and a farmacia that stays open well into the night (I forgot my toothpaste and razor in Rome... oops!).

Service is unbelievably friendly. Carla checked me in, making sure I had everything I needed, even walking to my room (on a different floor) to show me the way of this world. Marta was also very sweet, always smiling and very warm. Luca, the owner, has been incredibly helpful with booking. Love this guy's energy. He's hilarious.

I highly recommend this hostel if you're looking to explore Naples and its surrounding attractions like Capri and Pompeii. Napoli Centrale is easily reached with the Linea 1 tram that stops right in front of the hotel area.

I loved staying at Hostel of the Sun. I like a bit of privacy so I booked my own room (with a balcony!) I got great advice on what to do from all the staff, who were incredible and maintained a fun calm atmosphere amid the comings and goings of travelers. Because of the social nature of breakfast and the little bar, I was able to hang out or chat with other travelers when I felt the urge. The location is convenient, right near the port, bus stops, and the tram. And just a short walk to Galleria Umberto. The hostel and hotel room was quiet enough, even when the hustle of traffic down the block was epic. During my stay the traffic on the nearby embarcadero road was crazy, but I think that's because they're still excavating for a new metro station. When the station is finished the location will be even better.

Good atmosphere. Adaquate rooms. Really friendly and helpful staff. I wasn't really expecting to like this place so much. But they are good peple (and Naples is a fantastic city). Comes with a free breakfast.

If you like hostel culture, you'd like Hotel of the Sun. This place is located in an old building, (the elevator is little bit tricky) in a very convenient location. It's quiet residencial area. Fifteen minutes walking distance away from the Naples old city. Tram works perfectly. The hostel is two blocks away fromt the tram station, and it's the last station of the tram. The place has a very lively vibe, friendly and informative. The owners are helpful with the plans.

Consistently voted one of the best hostels in Europe. Great staff that is very helpful and can give you excellent ideas for various trips in the area. Clean rooms an a nice little common room. Also around the side is a cool little bar where people hang out and get to know each other.

One of my favourite hostel ever! If you're looking for a place in the middle of the city, with a friendly mood, nice staff and affordable prices, this is the right location.
The Hostel is very close to the historical centre of the city (Piazza del Plebiscito, Piazza del Gesù, the Royal Palace), to one of the main shopping-street of Naples, via Toledo and to the harbour also, which could be very convenient if you're planning a trip to the islands of the Gulf.
Last but not least, this hostel is well served by public transport like metro, bus and tram.

Unless you read a personal recommendation of this place, you wouldn't think much of the sixth-floor hostel/hotel, but there's a reason it's one of the top ranked in Italy. The hostel is two floors above the hotel rooms, so if you're an old softie like me, you can join in the fun (nightly forays with the owners to their favorite pizza joints, etc) and still get a great night sleep. Plus, it's seconds away from the ferry and a few minutes' walk to the historic street and pizza.
