Bavarian beer hall. Live oompah band.

Sat at table with other people and had a fun afternoon.

Touristy but very worth it. Cool live music and the size of the beer is crazy.

Hofbrauhous cannot be missed while in Munich! The food was to die for and the beer was even better. The music was lively and the entire experience was a great time. Only downside is you're paying for the name... Any souvenirs are obscenely expensive.

Definitely a must visit restaurant if you are a first timer in Munich. It is huge and constantly busy with great ambience with bands in their traditional costume. Try their beer and pork knuckle, better if you come with company so you can try more dishes!

There is a lot more to Munich than the Hofbrauhaus – but October or not, tourist cliché or not, it is still a must see. Three stories of beer hall dating back centuries. Drink a pint (or a quart), munch on a spiral cut radish, and check it off your bucket list. Oh – and take a lot of pictures with you in them.

You will find the most famous Bavarian beers here. Great atmosphere with nice oompah band. Beer and food is priced reasonably.

Tourists and locals - very traditional beer house with good Bavarian food. Historic - Hitler kicked off his power grab from here.

Always such a fun time here for beer (I recommend the Radler) and hot pretzels! Great place to go with large groups and to get fun photos.

You must stop in for a beer. Yes it's dirty and noisy, and overrun with tourists, but unless it is Oktoberfest, this is the closest thing to being there.

Hofbräuhaus is a beer hall in Munich, a great place to eat and drink beer. Its like Oktoberfest every night inside there. Hofbräuhaus franchises have opened in several places around the United States also like in Las Vegas.

The Hofbrauhaus is probably the most famous brewery and pub in Munich. Located just off Marienplatz, it is typically packed day and night. The Hofbrau tent also figures prominently during Oktoberfest.

No trip to Munich could be complete without a stop here! The pretzels the beer, the brats, all amazing!

Word to the wise, don't sit down at a table with a table cloth on it unless invited. That's for the locals, and is frowned upon. Fortunately there was a group that thought us charming (ok probably more hilarious) that we knew how to polka, and proceeded to do said dance in front of the band, which they loved... but again, maybe because 2 girls were dancing, who knows. They didn't speak much English, us not much German, but we still had a blast!

If you get the bratwurst in the pot of water, which I recommend, i was literally slapped and the fork knocked out of my hand. I guess you are supposed to pick it up with your fingers and slurp the meat out of the casing... Delicious, but weird, but whatever. You can't really go wrong with any beer, I recommend the Dunkel Weissen (yes a dark light beer, delicious!) And you can never go wrong getting a pretzel the size of your head. Ever.

The main beerhall that everyone gravitates to in Munich. Worth going there to say that you've been but there are better beerhalls in my opinion in Munich.

It's the Hofbrahaus in Germany...it's like a taste of Valhalla! Awesome beers in giant steins. I went by myself, sat down at a table full of American GI's and Australian girls and had a blast...
