It is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Monterrey, bohemian and colorful, located in front of the Macroplaza. If you go to the city, you can not miss this historic neighborhood full of emblematic alleys, picturesque mansions from the 18th and 19th centuries, antique shops, bazaars, galleries and an incredible atmosphere. In addition, it is the best place to go to alternative bars or to taste the gourmet cuisine of the city. The best time to go is over the afternoon, and then spend the first hours of the night there.

It is the old part of the city, converted into a bohemian place of cultural centers, art galleries, bars and restaurants. During the day it has its most familiar and strolling stamp, while at night it has another festivity and nightlife for the youth. On Sundays there is an antique market very much in keeping with the geography of the place.

Every time I visit a new destination I value a lot discovering your local scene, especially the night scene. By recommendation, I went to the Barrio Antiguo, an area dedicated to bars and restaurants. Ideally, walk through its stables before sunset so you can see the historic buildings that surround it and little by little at nightfall you will see how the atmosphere lights up in your premises and so decide for one to spend a super enjoyable evening.

You have to take your time to explore this beautiful area of the city, the oldest and most picturesque. On the tour of its cobbled streets one encounters historical buildings dating back centuries, along with modern entertainment venues. The atmosphere is very busy on weekends, when the locals go out for bars and restaurants. It is a neighborhood with many cultural activities and museums to visit.

The Barrio Antiguo is the historic area of the city of Monterrey, is located next to the Macroplaza, and the history behind this area dates from the viceroyalty, where you can see buildings such as churches and mansions of the time in good state of conservation. But you can also see the contrast of modern life, since there are also commercial establishments such as nightclubs, bars, restaurants, and hotels. In general it is a quiet place, perfect for taking pictures walking through the streets that are still paved.

If you are looking for a nightlife and a place to have fun, I recommend you go to the old quarter of the city. Located in downtown, for many years here is where the epicenter of the night begins in Monterrey, you will find many clubs and restaurants to have a good time. It is also a place with a lot of history, thanks to its colonial buildings.
