This is a pretty nice hotel situated in a great location. You can easily walk down the Nicollet Mall or quickly drive/take a taxi to any part of Minneapolis. I was able to get a pretty favorable rate, which is why I chose this over other nearby hotels. They don't have free wifi in your room, but if you sign up for their rewards club (and add it to your checkin) that will discount the wifi to free after checkout. I also wish they had a pool, but that's not a deal-breaker.

Local from St. Paul

The concierge and bell hops (do they still call them that?) were super helpful and friendly. The lobby is comfortable with a bar immediately to the side. The pool is the deepest pool of all Minneapolis hotels (good for adults but be careful with the kids). The room was a little off putting with a bumpy comforter that immediately distracts from the rest of the room. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Nicollet Mall is a great place to explore from end to end no matter what time of day. It is closed to car traffic so you can walk it or...take a bike taxi! Driven by super heroes (they sometimes wear costumes) it is worth seeing the heart of Minneapolis from the back of a bike pulled carriage.

This hotel is in a great location—right on Nicollet Mall, a fantastic pedestrian boulevard lined with great restaurants and shops. The Millennium is also a stone’s throw from the convention center, making it convenient for business travelers to the center. But I must say – I wanted to like this hotel more than I did. It feels like the hotel is past its prime. The room was a little dated—there were stains on the walls and the bed resembled an egg carton for all its lumps and bumps. The pool and fitness center are nothing to get excited about either. One of my favorite parts of the hotel, if you can get up there, is the huge glass dome at the top overlooking downtown. It used to be a restaurant, but now it is just for private parties. Wedding invitation or not, it’s still worth getting up there to take in the city lights at night. Overall this is a really decent hotel.

The Millenium is a hotel chain out of the United Kingdom, and this one is located in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis, across from the Hyatt Hotel and near Nicolet Mall.

Although a decent hotel, it seems a little bit tired and long in the tooth compared to other properties. The rates are usually more reasonable than the Hyatt. They do have a deal with the Hyatt that you can go across and use the In Shape full floor gym that Hyatt took over and beautifully remodeled.

There aren't that many Milleniums in the US, and their Frequent Guest program isn't that great, so if you have a choice, try the Hyatt instead. Its nicer, newer, and has better amenities and loyalty programs for the American traveler. BUt if you are a Brit with Millennium points, then it makes sense for you to stay here.
