Michigan Holidays

People often imagine Detroit and the faltering US car industry when they think of Michigan, but the state offers so much more. England has to offer. Surrounded by Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Superior and Lake Erie (and many smaller lakes), Michigan offers endless fishing, boating and, during the winter, ice-fishing. Check out the college town scene in Ann Arbor or watch a game at Ford Field in Detroit.

Michigan is really two states in one. You have the Lower Michigan which has cities like Grand Rapids, Detroit, Lansing, Flint, Saginaw, and Holland. Then the second half will include the Upper Peninsula. Michigan is also home to 4 of 5 Great Lakes and gateways to Canada.

Petoskey and Traverse City are my favorite places in MI. It is beautiful in northern Michigan. Traverse Bay looks like the water in the Caribbean. Mackinac Island is a great 1 nighter or day trip.
