Set in a little side street off the busy Downtown area, the Habitat is a cute little oasis. The staff is upper laid back and the price is very reasonable. The Habitat is a condo hotel, offering one and two bedroom suites, complete with living and dining area, plus kitchen. This is perfect for families and people who need to stay longer. Apparently the staff of the Habitat knows their clientele, since there is a little kids sign in on the reception. It is just a fancy sign plus a spiral bound notebook, where little guest can doodle their name and more. Simple, but cute. There is also an outdoor pool and a little gym. Everything was spotless and inviting. Although the Habitat is not right next to the restaurants and shops of Downtown, everything is still in walking distance and also the port Miami is just a couple of miles away.

The building offers suites for rent that are relatively roomy and updated. The units are pretty nice with modern appliances, sleek decor and look comfortable enough to stay for long periods of time. There’s a decent size mini kitchen and a washer and dryer in each unit. However, the location isn't great - although only a quick drive to civilization and surrounding neighborhoods like Brickell, Edgewater and Design District. While it's a close drive to Brickell hotspots, you can't walk anywhere and with all the construction going on outside, it's pretty noisy and messy. And the construction is pretty much all you see from all the windows in all the suites so there aren’t any stellar views of the city. Since this particular area is up-and-coming, I don’t think it’s a total lost cause. Give it a couple years, and this spot will be hot.

I really enjoyed Habitat Residences. It's a condo/style hotel with fully equipped kitchens and very roomy living quarters. It's like staying in an upscale apartment complex without the hassle of having to get to know your neighbors. You have the business room, a big gym with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a smaller pool. There are two full towers to stay in, so finding a room doesn't seem impossible ever. The girl at the front desk was so helpful and told us about all the activities we could participate in -- yoga on Thursdays, and art exhibits inside the buildings. You're also right next door to Lebron James' wife's smoothie and juice shop. I'd recommend this for Professionals looking for a really nice stay during their business trip, or a long girls week in Miami.

Basically apartments you can rent out. The spots are nice, but the location is a bit out of the way, so you will probably need a car of spend a lot on taxis. The staff here were polite but really not that helpful with anything.
