This is a convenient hotel to stay overnight to wait for your flight. Kids up to 17 years old stay free with a paying adult. There is complimentary breakfast in the morning, a refreshing outdoor pool and shuttle to the airport and other local destinations. If you want to explore Miami you better bring your own car though to get on the Turnpike. Except a little strip mall there is nothing around the hotel to do. Luckily the Baymont offers a restaurant delivery services, which gives you some choices. The lobby aims for some living room flair and offers comfortable seating arrangements. The rooms are pretty standard and look a little outdated, but are clean. There are basic amenities like free WiFi, a hair dryer, tv, alarm clock, radio and coffeemaker. The only thing a little above the ordinary is the self-controlled heating/air conditioning system.
The Baymont Inn and Suites is your average airport hotel with all the essentials, but nothing else. Although, there are a few spots to eat across the street which is a bonus. Many of the other airport hotels are too far away from civilization and only have their own restaurant or cafe to walk to. However, I think that’s really the only thing that stood out to me. People were waiting around in the lobby for a concierge that I didn’t see for some time so I’m not sure how reliable the service is. The check-in counter itself is not welcoming either - and not just because it was completely vacant. It has that old vintage look that really needs an update while the other part of the lobby could use one, too.
The hotel is on the west side of the airport which means you are farther away from the beach than ever. It's about a $20-30 cab ride so if you're looking to frequent south beach on a budget, this isn't the place for you. I would suggest this hotel to travelers just stopping by, waiting for their next flight out. It has all the basic amenities and a welcoming staff. But the rooms are very much outdated in decor as opposed to a few other rooms in the area. A huge upside however, is your location to Trump Golf Course. So if you're looking for an inexpensive place to visit with your golf buddies, and you know you'll spend most of your time on the green, then this would be a good fit.
The Baymont Inn & Suites Miami Airport West is a clean, comfy and welcoming spot for individuals, families or business professionals looking for a convenient spot to rest near the airport. Close to major highways, Dolphin Mall, and various strip malls in a residential area of town, the hotel provides easy access to anything and anywhere in Miami, like South Beach, just twenty minutes away. I love that the lobby has a charming fireplace, which was ornately decorated with small Christmas trees for the holiday. It felt homey with a large flat-screen TV where visitors can congregate for a cup of coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. Next to the cozy lobby, a small bar and restaurant, The Breakfast Corner, serves continental breakfast, which makes it a good deal for guests. And, there are many affordable international restaurants in the area to choose from too.
