1904 but took three decades to complete due to the Mexican Revolution and complications during the building process. From outside, marvel at the building's white-marble beauty and symbolic sculptures that include an eagle eating a snake. Inside, find spectacular murals by renowned artists, such as Rufino Tamayo and Diego Rivera. Head to the top floor to discover the Museo Nacional de Arquitectura, which showcases work by leading Mexican architects.

This building is one of the most beautiful and amazing opera houses in the world. Build in early 20th century, is a key element of the Mexican art arena. It's a must-see. For the best picture of this opera house go to the top of the department store building in front of the frontage of Bellas artes. This department store has a coffee shop in their last floor, where you may take the best photo.

Diego Rivera is without a doubt the most famous muralist in Mexican history and the Palaciao de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts) is the most famous and celebrated cultural centre in the Mexican capital. This building is nothing short of stunning from the outside, but when you move to the interior of the building, you will also be able to view some of Diego Rivera’s most incredible murals, and at no cost. This is one for art buffs or cultural aficionados visiting the city.

This gorgeous neoclassical building is considered one of the most important cultural centers of the country--it has hosted (and still hosts) some of the biggest names in music, dance, theater, and literature. Check out the schedule of events while you're in town to enjoy a show and a look inside; or, if you're an architectural buff, stop by for tour. Be sure to keep an eye out for the murals by Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo, and Jose Clemente Orozco. (Rivera's second 'Man at the Crossroads' is here--the first was commissioned for the Rockefeller Center in NYC but destroyed because of its anti-capitalist theme).

I was privileged enough to see a private performance of Phantom of the Opera at this theater. It was AMAZING. The theater itself lent so much to the performance.
