Description
This 1858 palace was built for Napoleon III. It's now a conference centre on the seafront, with gardens that are a popular attraction like a park.

A palace build in the 19th century, that is now a conference center (and some other events probably). Not accessible to the public, unfortunately, so i only saw the outside of it. It is a big U shaped building with a very nice facade

Lovely museum, great views, but tends to get packed during the day with tour buses. My advice is to go early or late and avoid the crowds.

There are a handful of palaces and fortresses around Marseille. Fort Nicholas and Fort Saint Jean were built by the Louis XIV to keep an eye on the independently-minded city after a 17th Century revolt. The Pharo is a lighthouse built during the 18th Century to guide ships into the harbor. These palaces are easy to visit on foot, particularly the forts, which are at the ends of the harbor.

Limbiate
