The top of Mammoth is 11,053 ft where you can ski down in the winter months or bike down the treacherous terrain. The mountain is set up in the winter for people of all ages. Mammoth Ski School is one of the best in the country. Rentals for ski equipment is available on the mountain. The gondola is open year-round for bikers and hikers during the summer months. The views at the top are incredible and well worth it. There are three lodges at Mammoth that are open during the winter months. Closest to our Townhouse is the Eagle Lodge. Canyon and Main Lodge are the other two.

well obviously Mammoth Mountain is the best in Cali and in my sometimes humble opinion the best I have been to anywhere (and I have been around the west a bit).

I started skiing / living here at the age of 4 some 33 years ago. I dont get lost on the mountain, love skiing or boarding here. frontside backside its all good.

The summer is full of fun activities too (even if the govt rat bastards wont let you go to the hot springs anymore :'( meanies). There is the jazz fest, the food tastings, the hiking, the backpacking, the 4x4ing, the skiing/snowboarding, toboganing, the sled dogs, snowmobiles, devils postpile/reds meadow/rainbow falls, and dont forget you can actually stand inside the san andreas fault here (awesome I know huh?) bicycling (mountain or road). I mean its all here. Too bad I cant work up here, then again I dont like to shovel snow so much so nice to come and visit :D

none the less get your bootae up to see the fun life that is Mammoth and bring friends its much better when you do that :)

This side of the Rockies there is not a bigger or better mountain to ski. It has something for everyone. From beginners to advanced skiers or boarders this is the place to be. Enjoy the gondola to the village for a ski apre's. Enjoy the many activities such as snowmobiling and dog sledding.

Huge ski resort with great a great variety of runs for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Much larger than any resort I've been to in Tahoe.

Probably the best snow mountain in California for your winter sports thrill! I've only gone to Mammoth twice. Both times it's snowed.

This last weekend the weather wasn't the greatest. A blizzard came through once we arrived in the early evenings Friday night and did not stop snowing. Some of the slopes had to close down because of the high winds, safety first! Having a gust of wind blowing at you with snow hitting you while on the lift was not fun at all. But to be riding on fresh power is the best! You can fall and not worry too much about how painful it is. There's so much room; so good boarders and skier can bypass the beginners or people like me who are rusty.

I hope to make it to the next trip!

Mammoth is far and away the best ski mountain in California. It's absolutely huge - similar to the resorts in my home state of Colorado - giving you a lot more variety than the Tahoe resorts. There is a good mix of moderate and expert terrain. The downside - it's in the middle of nowhere - so it's a long drive. The upside - you can fly there.

I don't take ski trips anymore because I love this mountain. There is terrain for everyone and the view cannot be beat. No matter what you like or what you seek, you will be happy at Mammoth.

This is my favorite mountain for skiing. It has about 3,500 ft of vertical. I haven't been able to make it from the top to the bottom without stopping to catch my breath. It has enough skiing for everyone from the first timer to the expert of experts. The village is packed with places for apres ski as well.

One of the best ski mountains you'll ever experience. And if you like it during the winter, you'll love it during the summer; hiking, biking, boating, you name it.

Best known for its ski runs, I prefer Mammoth Mountain during the summer. The views from the top, and from the gondola that takes you there, are breathtaking. One summer I was there over the Fourth of July weekend. They were running mountain bike races and ski races simultaneously.
