Great location in the heart of Madrid. The staff was AMAZING. The accommodations were ok basically what you expect at a hostel. I had a lot of fun with the other guests and was not disturbed when I wanted to sleep.

If you're looking for a backpacker hostel - cheap, noisy, crowded, lockers and luggage, rarely a free moment in the bathroom, this is for you.

Reception was completely oblivious, the doorbell didn't work, and I had to wait for a guest to let me in. The first thing I saw was the lobby - the free computers were all mobbed with guests and though it was only 12am, Bob Marley was already blaring. All of the surrounding sofas were mostly full of guests on Facebook, and the mood was decidedly young and backpacker. The kitchen, though large and reasonably clean, was equally full and hectic, with guests preparing themselves snacks or washing up.

The location is in a slightly more rough-around-the-edges area of Madrid, though the subway station Tirso de Molina is just a two-minute walk away. Reception was not at all helpful (although the man at the desk seemed to have nothing else to do but to surf the internet), but there were plenty of your standard hostel activities on offer - day trips, dance lessons, drinking nights - for guests who are looking to make friends. For those who want a bit more quiet, I'd recommend the much more subdued Platero Hostel World, just across the street.

Local from Madrid

I was intrigued when I first walked past this hostel and saw the blaring red traffic signs...and the grey moose-like animal dress in human clothing. I mean, it’s kind of strange, the combination of the two, but I think what this hostel was getting at is that there is truly one “way” to stay while you’re in Madrid. Can’t really knock them for that approach. This is typlcal hostel fashion: bunk bed, lounge area to meet other travelers and make connections (maybe a new homie, lover or friend?), a decent-sized kitchen. And hey, if the faux traffic signs and the weird animal greeting (now that I think about it’s probably a bull) you aren’t enough to draw you in? Not sure what to tell you.

Way Hostel is the best hostel that I've seen in Madrid!
From the minute I walked through the door I was made to feel right at home. I was talking to Bautista who was super friendly and spoke a variety of languages (or at least made an effort to!)
The design of the hostel is really bright and funky and the rooms are spotlessly clean, as are the bathrooms. The kitchen is for common use but the night that I was there the staff were cooking up a huge Paella for everyone. That was something else I loved, how people were really encouraged to hang out and get to know each other in the cosy common areas.
The location is great too, on a quiet little street just a short walk from all of the central areas of the city.
The hostel organises loads of trips and nights out so it's a great way to get to see the city and surrounding areas even if you're just there for a few days. It's really secure as well so you could be confident that you and your belongings were safe.
The free WiFi was an added bonus too!

London

Had a great time here, they were really accommodating and welcoming. We had no where to stay the next night as they were booked out and they helped us find somewhere else and allowed us to leave our bags securely with them while we explored the city.

I would say join in on their pub crawl because you go to some great bars and see a lot of the night life.

The walking tour they organise is also fantastic!

Would stay here again next time I am in Madrid!

Great hostel, would definitely go there again. Secure, friendly staff, breakfast, lockers (small), clean, wifi, locked luggage room, welcoming "living room" area, and a good location. Would have liked to stay there longer.
