Love love love this place. Great location! We had a room that had a loft that was amazing. You are steps away from Puerta Del Sol.
This hotel has a stunning lobby filled with African art, including large sculptures sitting atop tables, wooden masks hanging on the wall as well as paintings by African artists.
A step away from Plaza del Sol, the epicenter of action in Madrid, Urban Hotel is a delightful five stars boutique hotel, part of the Derby Hotels chain. If you are into modern, urban, Art-Deco design, with an Egyptian touch to it, then you will love this place! Apart from the fact that it took me 15 minutes to figure out how to turn on the lights and another 10 to turn on the shower, the rest was wonderful. The room was carefully adorned each day with roses, with the traditional sweets in shape of an egg, and with El Pais newspapers hanging from the door. It also won the Traveller’s Choice Award for 2012.
I loved being here back in 2007. I got upgraded to a junior suite and had an 10th century wooden buddha in my room. The room was a loft and was very comfortable and modern. The roof-top pool was great to escape the summer heat. The hotel was located in a very convenient location. I couldn't recommend it more!
Crossing the lobby of Zimbabwean black slate, past the translucent pillar of alabaster and then ascending the staircase made of gold, I decided I liked the Urban Hotel. Decor doesn’t get much trendier, or more avant-garde, than this. Apparently the owner owns an archaeology museum, and the spillover obviously ends up here. The room was sleek and trendy but comfortable (the bed doesn’t look like much, but wait till you lie on it). And each room features an objet d’art from the collection, along with a slip of paper giving you its origins. I didn’t eat in the restaurant, but the crucible of oysters on ice suggested I should have and the Glass Bar was constantly humming with guests and vogue-ish Madrilenians. Make sure you head up to the rooftop bar if you're there in summer - it’s a sublime spot with palms, loungers and skyline views. Urban is ostentatious, maybe even a little pretentious, but boy is it luxurious.
this is a good choice for your stay in Madrid, located close to Atocha Station and all the main attractions of Madrid. Trend hotel with nice comfortable rooms. If you book ahead of time you can find rates around 150 euros per night.
I have never stayed here, i am just reviewing the bars in the hotel!
The glassbar at the entrance is excellent, just ask for the White Chocolate Martini.
But what is amazing is the rooftop bar.
It is just spectacular, fantastic.
Dont miss it.
Only there for one night, but modern and very cool room. Great complimentary bottle of wine in the room. Very cool and packed bar in the lobby.
Checkout the cool rooftop bar for a great view and crowd
