Luxembourg Holidays

Tiny little Luxembourg is a landlocked country and the world’s only Grand Duchy, ruled by a sovereign Grand Duke in a representative monarchy. Successful steel, finance and high technology industries make it a well to do land which boasts the world’s highest GDP per capita. Tri-lingual Luxembourg (French, German and Luxembourgish are all official ... Read more
languages) has long been a strategic site, as a Roman fortress and later central to the Battle of the Bulge. Highlands, valleys and forests characterize the picturesque landscape while the cuisine is sure to fortify you for visiting some of the medieval castles dotting the landscape, as the national dish -- cream-drenched smoked pork, broad beans, and potatoes. Similar to Luxembourg itself, for something so seemingly small, it packs a large punch.

Tiny Luxembourg is one of the most expensive countries in the world, and while the Capital makes a nice day trip, there are not unique reasons to come here.

Luxembourg is a delight. In fact, we are visiting almost every other week, and I find always that is a profoundly underrated travel destination. It's rich in history, culture and tradition, the scenery is stunning, people are friendly and the cuisine beyond compare, a mix of French and traditional German.
