Located in the cgv building. One of the better places to get korean shaved ice. However, Anko is another place that seems to offer more variety and better prices.

A Korean shave ice place, order at the register and snag a seat. The place can get pretty busy during hot days so there might be a wait for a seat. I got a strawberry "patbingsu"- slices of strawberries, condensed milk, shaved ice, more condensed milk on the side. Red beans are an extra dollar, I didn't get them this time. Nice and refreshing. Bus your own dishes back to the front. Great for sharing.

Delicious shaved ice! I tried the matcha with red beans and it was so refreshing (not too sweet but there is condensed milk on the side). The shaved ice is nicely layered with red beans on the top and bottom. The mocha was so good, soft and chewy.

BEST BINGSOO EVER!! If you don't know what that is, it's kinda like shaved ice, but topped with red bean, condensed milk, and a variety of other toppings. I had black sesame powder which added a nice contrasting saltiness to the sweet. There's also green tea, coffee, chocolate, strawberry, etc. Greatest part is that it's not the typical big chunk of ice and not enough toppings because they actually layer the toppings throughout making the entire bowl delicious inside and out!!

This is my first time trying Korean style shaved ice! This place is really nice and I love the feel and ambience. The injeolmi, which is their most popular looked plain and boring, but it was far from it. The crunchy dates, the shaved ice, was all good. The injeolmi, to me tasted a little bit like peanut butter. Don't forget to ask for more condensed milk to make it more flavorful! I would want to come back and try their other flavors and their toast also!!!

HYPED!

In San Gabriel Valley area (for instance Kang Kang) you pay Shaved Ice with 3 toppings and condense milk around $5.
At Sul & Beans you pay $10 for Shaved Ice with 2 toppings and half the size.
I get it. This location doesn't look like the rent in a fancy plaza could be anything near payable, still $10 for a portion of basically ice and some red red beans. It's not worth it.
And waiting in line for around 30min for dessert is a waste of time.
Besides I super dislike how they prioritize Koreans. The list where you put your name down and everything at the entrance is in KOREAN ONLY.

Well I know ice is not worth $10, and if I can get it cheaper and better somewhere else... why coming here?

Moderately sized korean dessert cafe. When we came after lunch, it was pretty packed inside and there was a small line outside. The waiters call you in like a restaurant as spaces open up. But once inside it is similar to a fastfood place in that you go up to the counter and order food, get a buzzer, then when it rings you go back up to pick up your food. Also when you're done you return the trays to the counter. It was pretty packed so can be hard to fit a large group in.

The menu is mainly in Korean with a literal English translation, so might be hard to know what to get. They do mark the most popular items with stars. There was a fair amount of waiting: waiting to get in, waiting to order, waiting for food. The bingsoo is soft and creamy, similar to Taiwanese snow shaved ice, but instead of thin sheets of ice, it's more like lots of small grinded up pieces of ice. The one thing I do like is that they create multiple layers of ice and toppings. I think I have a slight preference for the Taiwanese snow shaved ice instead though.

GOOD
* Strawberry mochi bingsoo - Deliciously sweet and refreshing. Clearly my favourite. Had a good amount of strawberry, mochi, and some sort of creamy milk drizzled over it.
* Black Sesame bingsoo - Tasty, the powdered black sesame has a strong flavor. But didn't really like the powderiness.

MEH
* Injeolmi bingsoo - I'm not a fan of the roasted soybean powder that covers everything. I find it makes it a little too dry and powdery.
* Injeolmi toast - The chewy mochi inside is good, but the soybean powder makes it dry and powdery, and the bread was a little too dry and bready.
* Sweet potato toast - A subtle sweet potato flavor, but again not a huge fan of the dry and bready toast.

love bingsoo here. It's good and that's one of the reason why this place is always packed! You usually have to write down your name on the wait list specially if you go there at night.

Damn...I must give props to Koreans who vamped up the shaved snow game! Sul & Beans seriously blows away many of the Asian dessert places I've tried by far!

This is the first time I've tried Korean shaved snow so thanks Miss Monica L. for the introduction! My friends and I arrived after dinner around 10PM and there was already a line to be seated. Once we were called and seated, we realized there was another line we had to stand in to order. This process was a bit confusing since we were sitting around waiting for someone to come by our table.

Amongst the 5 of us, we decided to share three different flavors of snowed snow. We ordered the Strawberry, Green tea, and Injeolmi flavors. This was enough for all of us to sample a decent amount. My favorite by far was the Injeolmi. It was slightly sweet and nutty but not overpowering. It is definitely a standout flavor from the usual flavors I'm used to having.

-1 Star for being non-Korean friendly. Everything here is in Korean and if you can't read it then good luck squinting your eyes and trying to make out the English writing on the menu board. We had trouble reading it and just ended up pointing to what we wanted in the display case.

Tip* Parking is validated in the H Mart structure! Don't forget to bring your ticket!

Sul & Beans opened up on 2nd floor of the same plaza in Ktown as H-Mart, Daiso, Curry House, and a slew of other popular businesses. The plaza has convenient free parking with validation. The entrance to the free parking is in the back.

Sul & Beans is known for their Korean-style shaved ice. There are a bunch of similar places popping up around ktown, such as Anko and Okrumong.

I enjoy their shaved ice but I find Anko's blueberry cheese and Okrumong's original red bean to be better. I recommend the strawberry cheese or the original red bean here. The regular strawberry, black sesame, and soy powder options are just alright.

The reason I like coming back here though is the place is bigger and I like their drinks. I usually order the iced rice punch. It's super refreshing and not too sweet. They also have a pretty good lemon tea.

The place can be really crowded on weekends. You have to put your name on the list and wait outside until they seat you. Once you're seated, you can go up to order and pay at the counter. You also have to get up to get your own order once your buzzer goes off. At the end, you take your tray up to the counter to return to them.
