I've been here for a number of events on the rooftop to the ping pong area. It's a lot of fun. Really hip and super chill. Know they also throw pool parties during the summer as well. Only issue as with any DTLA place is parking. Limited street parking. Valet is included.

It's a Standard Hotel so of course it's trendy. They have spin ping pong bar on second floor as well as a rooftop that includes a pool and biergarten where they also have ping pong.

The bar here is pretty cool, but I really disliked the bouncers. They gave us a lot of trouble because my friend "smelled like alcohol." I'll admit we did pregame at a friend's house before we left, but definitely not enough to be rejected entry. However, the view was pretty sweet so 3 stars for that

Beautiful lounge, great location, and convenient parking. Just a few of my first impressions of the Standard! Got a great deal on the room, almost half off using their own app! The young woman the front desk was pleasant and very helpful. Handed us a small red bag labelled "the one night Standard". I'll leave is contents a surprise. A short elevator ride up and a couple turns later we arrived at our door. Larger than normal and a deep shade of red. It had a unique look that really set us up for the rest of the room. Now the most visually fun part of our room was the glass wall between the shower and the beds. Speaking of beds they where soft and comfortable by most reasonable standards, but honestly sleeping isn't really priority one here. Now aside from the room there's also a lively bar are the roof! Strong drinks decent music, water beds! And best of all swimming pool!

I dont know that I would ever pay full price for this hotel. But their app makes it a fun last min stay with half off deals. Room service was timly and the food was delicious. Drinks were over priced but who are we kidding its LA all drinks are over priced. Our room was very clean and asteticly pleasing! Defintly a party, noisey kinda stay. If your looking for quite don't stay at a hotel that features a night club on the roof ..just sayin;)

I met a friend for light food and drink. The atmosphere was calming with a 70's edge to it. It was a Sunday afternoon so not many people were around, which was nice. The food was good, I had a sandwich and fries. The service was a little slow but the food and atmosphere made up for it.

Amazing specialty cocktails, a great view of Downtown Los Angeles, ice cream, a restaurant that stays open all night, modern looking rooms, great music, and beds you can lounge in on top of the roof. Good lucking bartenders.

Come here for the view and the crowd. The rooftop bar is a great hangout. Water beds, the pool. During Octoberfest they set up a beer garden up there too. Drinks are going to be expensive, but if you have a guest in town then definitely come up for one.

Parking: Valet is available, but try to find one of the cheaper lots in town

They have a pretty decent rooftop bar/lounge that's nice to just hang out with a drink. They also have events at the pool during the summer which would be cool to go to if the lines weren't insanely long.

This is our entourage's usual stomping ground to start off the night. Considering that our crew all lives within walking vicinity (Bunker Hill, Pegasus, Orsini, 1100 Chase ... ), you can imagine we've seen it all when it comes to the "happenings" at this place, including the infamous incident where someone jumped off the hotel and killed himself. Aside from that though, I say the skyline from the rooftop is definitely nice to admire while sipping on a french connection. The music is loungey, so don't expect to see any ratchets twerking. You'll more likely to find ladies from casual to cocktail attires enjoying a glass of wine engaged in conversations about where they have traveled ... I gave this 3 stars for nice ambience and decent drinks, but nothing spectacular and definitely not a closer for the night. You'll need to have a place to go after this, or else it's like an empty tease.

So chic!! I love it. It's simple but classy. The rooms are spacious and the showers are see through.

If you are in downtown LA to party on the weekend, a night here is a great way to get access to the popular rooftop bar. The rooms are large and comfortable and the property has a festive vibe. Nights can be loud (that's why there is a pair of ear plugs in the bathroom). Showers are separated from the bedroom by a glass wall -- so there is little privacy if you are sharing a room with a friend. Service is non-existent and security is light during the day time making it very easy for people to walk in off the street and up to the rooms. The Standard Downtown isn't nearly as cool as its sister property in Chelsea. It is fine if you want to party but a little irritating if you are here for culture instead of the thumpa thumpa. The pool area is okay but not really a place to linger and lounge. Fine for what it is.

Check out that view! The drinks aren't cheap but the rooftop is pretty amazing. You gotta love those waterbed pods.

Well, this place sure is... interesting! It's luxury, in a sort of weird, artsy, grungy downtown kind of way. The lobby is kind of old school cool, in that it's not grand or bright or sparkly like other luxury hotels, but it has that sort of dark mystery that is common with these old downtown buildings. The room itself was great, if a little unexpected. It's pretty much an open floor plan, with the huge bathroom completely open to the sleeping area. Everything has a sort of simple, modular look to it - boxey couches, low platform bed, etc. The bathtub was huge and very comfy, and the shower had two shower heads (yay for couples!). The best and weirdest part was that there was a giant FOOT STATUE in our bathroom - like, big enough for me to clamber up and sit on. Really weird, but a lot of fun!

After the success of the Standard on Sunset Blvd, this downtown location was introduced with much fanfair. With a rooftop bar, and plenty of cool rooms, this hotel is a fun place to stay downtown.

snooty places like the rooftop at the standard is a bit too pretentious for me.

On fridays and Saturday you actually have to pay 20 buckeroos just to get up there..kind of unheard of in DTLA bars! Not to mention parking for another $10 ! We were lucky to be there slightly early to get free parking ...

So What if you have a pool upstairs! It can't even be used! ...its all purely for the sake of feeling "grand"! If your looking for the view that they def do have, you might as well go to places like the Perch!
My friend did get a penthouse suite to celebrate his big bday bash - though the penthouse suite was spacious their restroom setup was kind of weird! Btw, having a suite only warrants you 2 bracelet pass to get up to the roof top.
