Chic, modern, hip, minimalist and the most fun you'll ever have at a pool party. If my budget would allow for it, I'd be booking rooms all the time during summer. The poolside bar also serves a jalepeno cocktail (forgot the name, sorry) that sets the bar for all other spicy drinks out there. Quite pricey but worth it! Also surprised how it never seems touristy when I go there..a lot of locals/people in the entertainment industry who are very approachable. Spend a weekend here! You won't regret it!

Love the history and the amazing architecture at Roosevelt Hotel. I wouldn't say it's the fanciest spot in LA, but there's a cool rooftop pool/bar. Apparently Marilyn Monroe's ghost can be felt and seen in one of the mirrors, however I think your best bet is the photo of her on the mezzanine level.

I've been to a number of pool parties here at the hotel. They always have great dj's and draw a great crowd. Its good for star spotting too. Keep an eye out for a few at the bar.

Parking: Valet is easy but expensive. Try to find a lot in local area

I have never stayed in a room here, but been to the bars and restaurants a decent amount. They are always enjoyable if you are willing to spend money. The cheapest drink I ever got here was $19, but you pay for the view and the history of this amazing hotel. It's home to some of the greatest Hollywood stories (former location of the Oscars), and if walls could talk, this place would run gossip magazines out of business. Plus the architecture is pretty breathtaking.

For the celeb watchers, I've seen a bunch of famous folk come and go here, including Liam Hemsworth.

Hotel is known for plenty of after parties from the Dolby's theater and all the after parties from premiers! We booked a room upstairs and it was actually smaller than what imagined. I did call to ask for some headache medication and they didnt offer that. I asked the downstairs people and they werent willing to help either..walking down to the liquor store was actually a bit far...so i wished they had some sort of convience stores indoors.

If you are looking to stay in a hip yet historic hotel in Hollywood, then this should be one of your top choices.

The hotel just oozes with nightlife with it's several properties: the spare room lounge (scenes from Entourage filmed here), Tropicana Bar Pool, Teddy's, and the Library bar & restaurant. Definitely always a good looking crowd here with a strong party scene.

Aside from the hotel itself, it is walking distance from the touristy Hollywood blvd strip.

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel has so much Hollywood history. It's also been used in a number of films including "Almost Famous".

Finding a hotel is usually about getting a place to sleep, but for nightlife lovers, L.A. is the perfect place to find a hotel that's best for staying awake. The party here centers around the pool, where you can get drinks until 2 a.m. while you do some celeb spotting. Teddy's nightclub downstairs is equally as star studded, but it can often be tough to get in (unless, of course, you are Justin Timberlake or Jay-Z).

This historic landmark hotel on Hollywood Blvd is directly across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theatre. This hotel is known to be haunted, but my stays here have never resulted in any stories. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are small but well appointed.

I like the Roosevelt because of its history. I find most of the people who work there infatuated with their own sense of importance. The hotel's Dakota restaurant purports to project elegance but by trying so hard it projects only a caricature. Compared to the style, grace and friendliness of the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Roosevelt is a hillbilly.

Named after President Theodore Roosevelt, the Roosevelt Hotel opened in 1927. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences located its first offices on the hotel's mezzanine and in 1929 held the first Academy Awards in the Blossom Room (with Errol Flynn serving bootlegged gin in the barbershop's back room). Marilyn Monroe's first screen test was held here. Bill "Bojangles" Robinson used the stairway leading from the lobby to the mezzanine to teach Shirley Temple the famous staircase dance performed in The Little Colonel.

#BeOut

We know it's not very Hollywood to get up before noon, but should you find yourself not-too-hungover to start your day in the AM, head over to The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Sure, you've probably partied there more times than you care to (hazily) remember, but you should definitely check out the celebrated pool. And while you will never get the chance to sit on the (now removed) diving board next to Marilyn Monroe, you can still soak up some sun at the pool's celeb-sighting-tastic Tropicana Bar and sip on a Marilyn Suite. (MM once said, "Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul"...so, $16 for her namesake cocktail seems a bargain, no?) If you're one of those sophisticated types who refuse to start drinking without a proper breakfast, the hotel's Public Kitchen & Bar does a wicked weekend brunch: $35 for 2 courses, plus your choice of champagne, mimosa or bellini. For a mere $6 more, they'll make those bubblies bottomless (now that's some movie magic!).

This hotel is in the heart of Hollywood and therefore walking distance to a plethora of bars and restaurants, like Musso & Frank, Kitchen24, and Stout. Or you could just stay right where you are and have a juicy gourmet burger from the Roosevelt's on site restaurant 25 Degrees. Then once you're nice and full, go lounge by the pool and take a nap.

The site of the first Oscars, this is one of Hollywood’s original glamour hotels. Named after Theodore Roosevelt and financed by a group including Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford and Louis B. Mayer, it first opened its doors in 1927. Countless stars have been residents or guests over the years – Clark Gable and Carole Lombard paid five dollars a night for their penthouse, which is now named the Gable & Lombard Penthouse. Following a major renovation in 2005, The Roosevelt has been more prominently featured in films and in Hollywood nightlife. There has been a recent surge in popularity in the last few years, thanks to trendy nightclub Teddy’s, which is located in the main lobby of the hotel. Hit 25 Degrees for their signature burgers, shakes and fries, or saddle up to the famed poolside Tropicana bar, which still hosts hip parties and events.

I stayed there for a couple of nights in 1998 and it was a very nice hotel, the rooms had a lot of 'cachet'. (Our room was not available so we got upgraded to a 2-bed suite :-) I haven't been there since the renovation but I'm sure it's still a great place to stay.
