Amazing day trip. Their museum is VERY informative, well-done and has kid-friendly areas. A must anytime I have visitors in town.

It the nearest larger town with good shopping, movie theater, museums, restaurants etc.

I worked for the Los Alamos Lab around 1980 and this is where I fell in love with Northern New Mexico. I occasionally come back, hike nearby Bandelier, explore the town site, and wonder how my life would have been different if I chose to stay.

I really liked Los Alamos National Labs when I visited them as a kid who was into physics and national security and Feynmann. They do a good job of commemorating the Manhattan Project.
